if it where my 12x12 room this is what i would do i would do a full sog grow with 4 4x4 flood and drain hydro trays and do 2 1000's on light rails the trays would be end to end making basically a 4x8 tray out of 2 4x4's on ether side of the room leaving a good 4 foot walkway between the trays light rails skimming over each 2 trays with a 1000w bulb on each side i would go all perpetual 2 week harvesting so first tray is freshly rooted clones to two weeks second tray 2 to 4 weeks third tray 4 to 6 weeks and final tray 6 to harvest
hydro would be sick but as a first timmer Id go soil total 4 1000s 6 plants every light through in the 1 plant as a mother somewhere under a t5 tube.
and stay soil, you need to learn the basics first and this is huge already. your going to need vented shields and a bad ass scrubber!!! to vent the heat out, and some sort
of intake pulling cool air in. your going to need a dehumidifier for sure, to control your RH. start with a simple nute program, as for the soil I would use sunshine #4. and get
x2 12 in air king fans, and a 55 gal res tank to mix water and nutes up, rig a pump and a line with a watering wond to make watering simple. some sort of PH test kit and
a blue labs ppm pen to insure you dont burnem. thats all I can think off right off as im kinda stoned :) if you get this going +rep
but if not +rep for the thought.

Niiiice! I like the set-up...but yeah need to keep the plant count at 25 to avoid a federal "pound me in the ass" prison. I've been reading the SOG vs fewer bigger plants debate and it seems like the yeilds come out equal in most people's opinion. Although SOG seems like the gift that keeps on giving...whereas fewer-bigger seems like one big harvest then start all over. Am I understanding this right? To me it seems like sea of green is more advanced & multitasking vs fewer bigger plants might be less involved, easier to manage - more suited to a newbie like me. What do you think?

Thanks - this is good info/advise. Several few things here I hadn't thought of. I'm definitely gonna get this going - already committed and saved for it...just a question of the best way to set this up... getting a lot of good feedback. What's your opinion of light movers vs stationary? Seems like if I don't lose much yield, I could cut down on the lamps needed, plus the plants would get light from all angles, not just top down.

yup you got it there is definitely always something to be done in sog but it sure is the gift that keeps on giving lol but sure your grow will go just fine whatever you choose at least your not trying to skimp on stuff thats good.

how is your grow going last i checked your ladies where looking great

64 of them in each tray 256 total good thing is in my state there is no plant count just cant be caught with over 100 lbs of rooted plant matter so half my room wont weigh jack anyway just rooted clones dont weight but a couple grams at most.

I would aim for 2 and a half ounce to 3 per plant. the room with the 4 one thousands is 12x 12. that setup works nice but I would like to put them in a scquare with a little walk way through the midle.
