Hey Duchie, definitely leave your seed for a few weeks at least. I have tried early germs on freshly plucked seeds and they just turn black in the soil. I also just put my beans directly into soil. When you think logically about a seeds life. It is in a bud, it will either fall to the ground when the bud starts to dry out and rot as the plant in nature dies in the winter month, or it may even be munched by a lucky passing bird. The seed will then be dropped into the ground and sit there all winter and wait for the early spring sun to start heating the ground and also germinating the seed. If we didn't use out plants to create hash I would use mine as repeat compost as in my experience you plant a seed in with some mulch from a hash run and you are going to get one of the strongest plants ever...Oscar garbage bag was the perfect example of such a plant, growing without help in a garbage bag full of old roots and soil and mulch from a hash run!

ML, so is it temps that are still doing you in?

LG2004, that looks like some super crystally bud bru. And some nice green sticky love pee. Good luck with it!

Peace, DST

G'day gents. I've had my male Jackhammer hanging for about a week or so and while waiting I came up with an idea to collect the pollen that I decided to try. Of course I grabbed my camera and shot step by step. It might even be old news, don't know, but here it is.

When making the cone, work it so the tip is small and tight as possible and apply the tape at the bottom, this makes it easier to work the top of the cone to the right size you need, then tape the top. Finally tape the tip for now.

I trimmed the heavy stock on top so I could fold the top.

Shake it up anyway you want it, I prefer to march to my own beat. I'll put one of mine at the end.

I'm letting the rest stay in the paper cone to dry a bit more and try again later, with some other bits I have in a bowl. I was going to put some rice in the vial, a trick I learned in the restaurant biz with salt shakers, but I wasn't sure so I didn't.

Tell me what you think please guys.

Duchie:peace:

Yeah, right on, glad you guys like it. I think I'd like to get it into a smaller vial with less air/moisture? Idk, off to do some more reading re; storing pollen. We should all get diplomas for putting in this much work. One day this is more broadly going to become a valued trade, I hope.

you can always use your diploma as a cone like duchie's.....for what they are fekkin worth these days, lol.
I'm only finally starting to learn everything that is important. Other than reading, writing and rythmatic, the rest was just crap filler to guide me on someone else's path. Man, if I had the internet when I was younger.

Duh! Edit. Thanks for the props boys, always appreciate them from yous. Hmmm? Spell check recognizes the word "yous". Who'd have thunk? Wholly crap, that's a real word too!

its winter here and I have been able to measure the temperature 6 Inches from the 600Watt bulb, Never do they go into the 90ºF
I can get the light close enough to bleach not burn the plants, I need a new hood.
I quit recording half way through the grow because I thought all my problems were sorted out. I want to journal the perfect grow, in Noob language.
