What if a liberal USA government really sanctioned weed cultivation.

the only thing I don't like about anyone and their brother being able to grow and encouraged to do so, and this goes for industrial hemp as well, the fact that we'd have to grow in greenhouses because of all the male pollen floating around... that'd piss me off. I love growing outdoors not worrying about some shitty ass hemp plant pollinating my primo buds.... I don't think i'd ever be able to accept having to grow in a greenhouse because of that singular fact... I know if they legalized hemp every farmer out here would grow it and I wouldn't be able to grow without a greenhouse....

selfish I know but I don't like the idea of having to grow in a greenhouse....

I think your being a tad bit dramatic. I've grown many of plants by males and they havent gotten pollenated. And I'm talking within 10 feet distance. Sooooooo yeahh

Please take everything I said as tongue in cheek.

I pay taxes and I mean taxes. It pisses me off when the gov takes from me and gives to a person who has a better car than me, a better TV then me, parties like there is no tomorrow and gets up at 2 in the afternoon to do it all over again.

I would join a Tea Party if they gave all that stuff away.

How am I being selfish? And no offence you have not once explained how it's not a bad idea besides saying "it's not a bad idea". Do you have atleast a decent line of reason to back your theroy up of why handing out free electric is a good idea?...cause I can't find a good reason

I'm not trying to be a troll I just am trying too see the logic.

I find that hard to believe honestly because I've heard of people being pollinated by someone cutting down like 10 big male plants putting them in a big pile and it blowing over the valley giving so many people seeds that locals out here called it 'the year of the seeds'

so seriously you'd have to bring out some serious facts for me to think this wouldn't happen with huge fields of industrial hemp....

But, if you think about genetically modified crops are pollenating unmodified crops.

Hey, another way for the lawyers to stay active. Outdoor growers suing other growers for pollenation from an inferior plants or just pollenation.

lol, this is a perfect example of a liberal, someone who slacks on their work, but because their mommies always told them they were special and a false understanding of american equality leads them to think they deserve some of the benefits from others hard work. If I spend my 5 grand, my time, and run the risk of any type of failure only hurting me, then why do I not deserve to keep or share my harvest how I want. That isn't selfish at all, thats just how things naturally work and why fuck with what works extremely well.

Well I left my recordings of days I had males by females and charts at home...but I can say out of experience that didnt happen. Infact I have a plant who is in a pot once occupied by a male that I cut down and is a female that has no seeds!

If you lived next door to an industrial hemp field I could see your worry but in the air at a resonable distance? Cmon...

pollen can fly in the wind like dust... there's hella wind here.. what makes you SO sure that pollen wont take over miles away with a good brisk wind??? sorry but you're gonna have to give me a whole lot more proof than you had this singular situation where it didn't happen.

if you tested this over and over and it came out the same every time then maybe I could believe you, but a single instance isn't enough for me.

Poplars is right here, at least with how pollen can travel in wind. Not sure about the year of seeds, but that is extremely logical. Pollen travels by animals, insects, and wind, its how the damn plants fuck

Well the problem here is I'm not looking for yours, or anyones approval. I'm stating facts. Your stating fictional scenerios. I have grown outdoor 3 years and never once got a seed and had plenty of males and females around each other for long periods before destroyed.

So let's recount.

Me - Facts and experience

You - Wind

Me 1 You 0

Obviously this is how plants reproduce but pollen traveling MILES through a SINGLE gust of wind? CMON!

lmfao, yeah sorry that's not gonna cut it.

a big field of industrial hemp + a constant 25 mph wind = a definite chance of getting pollinated unless you bring some sort of science in here that states that the pollen can only travel so many miles...

Past studies have shown that the bulk of a corn plant’s pollen will fall within a 20-foot radius of the plant. However, some may be carried much farther, perhaps up to a quarter of a mile or farther. It is important to remember, however, that pollen shed is not a continuous process. It turns on and off in response to the environmental conditions at the time. Thus, very little, if any, pollen is being shed on rainy days, on windy days, on extremely hot days, or on extremely cool days. In addition, the average life of a pollen grain is only about 20 minutes, so it needs to do its work quickly before it loses its viability. ... more

Mabe THAT cuts it.

Me 2 You 0

It's just basic logic really though. I had hayfever as a child. My dads aparntments had trees outside that I was terribly allergic too, but walking a fairly short distance about an 8th of a mile I was okay...if pollen could travel 25 miles as your stating I would be sneezing 2-3 towns over.

As stated pollen only has a very limited life span. so unless youl ived right next door too one of these industrial hemp fields your crops should be okay from the terror of weed communism. can you cut the dramatics now?

no that's just for corn.

but hey I find it entertaining how you think this is something you win or lose... you're trying to convince me and it's not working, so if anyone is losing here it is you.... sorry

I know for a fact that study wasn't conducted on cannabis pollen, if you produce a study that shows cannabis pollen is equivalent to corn pollen maybe I"ll take you seriously.

but for now it seems you're just trying to say how wrong I am with indirect evidence at best. all I'm saying is I think there's a significant possibility, you don't have sufficient proof, until you come up with sufficient proof I will continue to think as I do and you haven't 'won' anything.

edit: I don't think it can travel 25 miles, but I do believe its possible for it to travel 5+ miles.. and that's close enough to be very problematic.

and no I will not cut the dramatics as I"m not being dramatic, you're being dramatic thinking you can instantly just change what I think.

not in denial, but you can keep calling me all sorts of names when it is you who has the goal to change my mind about this. I don't think cannabis pollen is the same as other pollens exactly. it may be but until I see a study stating how similar such pollens are I will assume it's different.

that isn't denial, its you lacking evidence and me making a conclusion you don't like or believe in.

sorry you seem to be bothered with that....
