what do you think about miracle grow

1) What toxins? On what lable does it say "Made from left over petroleum products"?
2) I believe that would be "Rocket Scientist".
3) Thinking for ones self is very important as long as you're not basing your conclusions on erroneous information.
No kidding Genius! Rocket Surgeon was a joke.

-For Peaceful People you sure have a lot of anger.

Dangers for People and Pets

The warnings on the Miracle Gro label state many of its dangers. If ingested, Miracle Gro can cause vomiting and irritation of the mouth, stomach and esophagus. If inhaled, it can irritate or damage airways and lungs. The label also recommends avoiding contact with skin and eyes and immediate washing if contact does occur. People and pets that touch plants or play on grass that has recently been fertilized with Miracle Gro can become ill or get an unpleasant rash.

So if it is inhaled it can irritate or DAMAGE airways and lungs. So what do you think smoking it will do to you?!

- Well now, It might mess me up, but that's a risk I'm willing to take! -

Wow!

My first few grows were in MG....with several Lowryder 2....did great.....and it tought me the importance of "timely" watering. I did not use any further nutes.....Right now, I'm finishing 2 Lowryder 2 at a remote location and looking good......
Since I started using vapes, I can detect the subtle differences in various auto strains.....never tasted any diff between MG soil and any other.....
My take on MG soil (the regular stuff, not moisture control) is it's fine for thosse who WON'T water too much....

For someone whom took offense to an uncalled for insult earlier, it dosn't seem to bother you to sling around use less labels yourself "Genius".
FYI, sarcasem does not float in a blog - lacking further input (voice inflection, facial expression) it simply fails.
Now, which petroleum byproducts is mg made of?

Love the Mg soil an nutes.
I use em by choice.
No more toxic than organcs in the same concentrations.
All the food you eat is grown with chemicals.
It dosent make bud taste bad.

Dont listen to the haters, its the best for the buck.

Tell you what, you figure it out.

Do your own research, Mr. Forum God.

Common sense should tell you that smoking petroleum by-products is probably a bad idea.

And I really do not to be condescended to by a pseudo intellectual self ordained gatekeeper.

Ok Sweetie?

Chill out.Look...the warnings say not to ingest miracle grow...well I gotta tell you I'm not too keen on eating bat guano or cow shit either.The Chesapeake Bay is dying because of chicken shit and animal waste from farms. Too much of any chemical, organic or not is bad for you.

OK, I'll do exactly what you say.

Thank you for telling me how to think.

Farmer when they talk about inhaling the mean taking a scoop of MG and inhaling, not what you smoke. Come on man use common sence. If you were to inhale bat guano it would cause you issues too. If you over use chem ferts or for that mater organic nuetes you will have issues. Everything in moderation my friend.

thats what i have been thinking the whole time

Though let's put this into perspective. I come from a county where cannabis is a billion dollar a year industry.

Why is it that NONE of the grow shops carry Miracle Gro?

Because they know that it is poisonous, as it comes from petroleum?

If you told people here (The BUD Capital Of The World) that you grow buds with Miracle Gro, they will think you very inexperienced and not too bright.

Now, how come you know more about growing than people who do it for a living, year in year out and from one generation to the next?

Right, You don't. You just pretend that you do.

And if someone cautions others against using such a hideous product on their plants, you insult them.

Please, by all means, smoke all of the Miracle Gro you can!

Good Luck!

dude that farmer guy is probably right. the way Mg nutes are created is very unstable.

i heard the blue crystal MG fert contains a radioactive isotope that is quite dangerous.

The four basic ingredients in Miracle-Gro plant fertilizer are sulfur; potassium chloride; urea; and ammonium phosphate, monobasic.

According to what I could find, the ingredients are as follows:

Ammonium phosphate
Urea
Potassium chloride
Boric acid
Copper sulfate
Iron EDTA
Magnesium EDTA
Urea phosphate
Zinc sulfate
Sodium molybdate

The percentage breakdown is as follows:
Total Nitrogen: 15%
9.2% urea nitrogen
5.8% ammonium nitrogen

Available phosphate: 30%;
Boron: .02%;
Soluble Potash: 15%;
Copper: .07%;
Iron: .15%;
Manganese: .05%;
Molybdenum: .00005%;
Zinc: .06%.

I remember the old days when Miracal grow was bigger than organic growing.

Here's the deal. You're never going to see a real scientific test saying MG is bad. MG is made by the fertilizer giant Scott's. Companies like Scott's spend quite a bit of money in DC and in Universities to make sure certain testing isn't done or is supressed to the point nobody gets to read it. Some of the members of this forum would do themselves well to look at the big picture. You need to understand that your government and all of it's bullshit protection agencies are not here for your good. If that were the case, Xanax and Prosac would be illegal and lots of us wouldn't be growing in a closet. To make a statement like "they can't use it in food if it's bad for you" is laughable. Use it if you choose to. It won't get used at my house, simple as that.

damn man you sound like you could use a few bong hits
Good advice 420, Thanks.

Though If you think about it, I'm not selling fertilizer. (I can help you avoid mite infestations, but that's all) and, I haven't mentioned any nute companies.

I have my favorite, but there are so many good brands of nutes specifically designed for cannabis, so whatever people like best I guess.

I just think that MG is unhealthy, and if I cared at all I would warn people (When asked) about using it on something that they are going to consume.

Peace.

Exactly. If we don't share our experience with each other grassroots style, we will be kept in the dark by the manufacturers of these products as to their negative effects.

My 2 cents.

A very childish response. I'm organic and don't use MG myself, but was simply trying to gain solid verifable information.
And I'm not a mod, just a simple grower that bases decisions and information I attempt to help others with on facts, not this useless blither.
And put away your mothers dictionary, it makes you sound silly.
