@925Grow'N:When you harvest at 50-70% cloudy, like you say (I guess you have done this before), how many % amber would you get after curing?
I try to harvest at the same time as you, when most thrics are cloudy. Not amber, as even buds with no amber will get it during curing.
I guess all the people saying 50% amber / 50 % milky when harvesting are full of shit (or do not cure).
I too agree with the 50/50 being too late. I've been lucky enough to have found a mentor with over 20 years experience so he shows me first hand what I'm talking about above. This will be my first harvest so I can't tell you a percentage number.
My reason for having some amber is for my lower back pain. I want mostly an uplifting energetic high but would like some pain relief for my back.
I believe the amber trichome is the thc turning into cbn. I cut a little nug off my Casey Jones when the trichomes were clear. 3 days later they were white. I plan on cutting them down, hanging for 4-6 days in a quick cure hanging rack. Then putting them into Bell glass jars. I will leave open for few hours, close until I see condensation and burp until condensation is out, then repeat over again. I plan of doing this for at least a week and then store in jars. My plan is to cure one jar for at least a month to 6 weeks!
What do you think? Basically when I look and most are milky with occasional amber trichomes here and there then I chop. Also, I still am a new grower, I don't count my research before hands on experience. This is from my personal experience and I know when it comes to this many have their own personal preference.
