bump this

I suck at cloning also, tired of using seed every time. I use rockwool also and my plants just droop and don't stay at all perky.

I'm assuming your setup is dome, rockwool, cloning gel/powder also?

Very quickly get them back into the rockwool or other medium. Those are the roots. They are developing right now... You are doing everything right except getting a bit anxious. Just put them back together and leave them alone. I would use some B-1. If you have extra $$$ then Roots Excelorator from house and garden is great too.

Relax, you have roots, they are just stubs right now but they look great.

I hope this helps....

In my experience, a little rot can be normal right at the bottom. As long as you have those roots, you will be fine. In my experience rockwool does not like to sit in still water, nor do clones. If it were me, I'd make sure the rockwool is nice and wet, but I wouldn't let it sit in water. I would also add a little B-1. It is dirt-cheap and available most anywhere. It reduces shock and encourages root development.

If you are getting roots to develop like you are, you should be fine.

To be completely honest, I'm not all that experienced with drooping leaves. My only experience with drooping leaves was in larger plants when I got root rot. But my leaves were not as green as your. So, I'm sorry to say I can't help.

It is available from most any garden department, nursery or hydro shop and is sold by many different manufacturers. If you just ask for some B-1, they should know exactly what you are talking about. I pay $10/gal or $5/qt locally here in Humboldt.

The brand I use is Liquinox. However, any brand will do. It is kinda' like buying vitamins for humans. You just ask for the vitamin or mineral you need and then choose the cheapest brand. Again, if you just ask for liquid B-1 they will sell you whatever brand they carry at most any nursery or hydro store.

Based on the clone pic in your sig thread:

Trim the tip half off the leaves while you're taking the clones.

As I understand it, the stem can't uptake enough water from the soil to keep up with the transpiration from the intact leaves - the drooping means the plant is drying out. Once the roots start to form and can suck up water they'll perk up. Since I started doing this, I haven't had any drooping clones.
I've got some kind of 'mystery infection' I'm trying to figure out...but no drooping.

Trimming the leaves reduces the surface area that's transpiring (how a plant breathes) to a point where the stub can keep up with the moisture loss. There's also only half the weight hanging on the stem that way.

An added benefit is that you can monitor new growth more easily: any leaves with a tip are new ones.

If an air bubble has gotten into the stem, they may be done for.

No 'thinking' about it. The spraying daily twice was bad enough, but not draining the water is the kiss of death. No air/O2 in the RW=no roots or rot.

I sprinkle a little perlite on the bottom of the tray so the RW won't suck itself to the tray. Totally saturate the RW, allow excess to drain away and the nothing till the RW is mostly dry. About a week with new cuts and no roots, more often as roots form but seldom more than every 3 days.

If the cuts still look good, re cut and try again. Just make sure the RW gets air and is allowed to (mostly) dry out.

Get them out of standing water. Trim away the rot and try again.

"I" only use a dome for the first couple of days if that. I don't mist at all. Why would the cut be inclined to grow roots if it's getting all the water in needs from misting.

You have waaaaay too much water involved here and you aren't going to have much success till you learn to back off.
