Electrical Growing Worries.

I'm just your casual smoker who's tired of going trough other people so i want to start growing my own for personal (I'm guessing 1/2 mother plants and keeping 2/3 clones going on a 2 month basis)

But I'm concerned about the electric usage showing up as suspicious.
Is there any advise that you could give? Or am i just being paranoid seeing as its not a very big garden? :?

(Also if theres any other tips you can give me my ears are open to your wisdom :hump:)

Just pay your bills and dont STEAL your power. You think the Electric company (A PROFIT BASED SYSTEM) would argue that your bill went up by $75.00 Thats what my grow room rasises my bill when growing.

Well urm i havent picked any lamps yet still trying to work out a cheapish setup, any thoughts?

A small garden like that, are you planning on devoting a room to it or 2 grow boxes?

Grow boxes dont really require that much, a small fan, and some lights. But a room would be more efficient, just it would be harder to handle 2 different light cycles (one for the clones and one for the mother(s)). That being said, you dont nessecarily ned to keep one designated mother, you could just extract some clones from your plants before you flower them...

once you start say you get a 400 it will be notime you will want a 600 then the 1000 will look like a good idea. what Id do is buy a 1000ballast not a digital
and get a inline spliter to run x2 600 off one ballast 9amps 150,000 lummens = in my state $30.00 IN ELECT a month just the lights though.

Well i just harvested my first grow which i started because of reasons like yours. I grew two plants with 250W CFL for vegging and 400w HPS for flowering and Id say that if you think only of your own supply and youre money-conscious than I wouldnt go higher than that. Im sure you could go with even smaller wattage if you design your setup well - I didnt.

With the size setup you probably want, you are talking maybe 30 bucks a month max on your power bill. There are people who run multiple 1000 watt lamps, I wouldn't sweat a 400 or 600 watt HPS with some fans and a humidifier.

Well ive thought about it for awhile and think im not going to start cloneing till ive moved so ive got time for one normal grow of 2/3 plants.
The space i have available to do it here is 19inch width and 55.5inch length and more then enough hight. (yes its a small closest but im guessing its enough for 2 plants?)

Im thinking either a 250W CFL or a 250W fluorescent with growing in rockweel cubes and having a small fan going, will that be enough?
(any advise on nutrients?)

That could probably help, he is using an autoflower though.

YOu space sounds like it will work if you LST of some sort, 19" wide isnt too much for 2 plants, but it can be done!

BTW, do you mean one 250 watt CFL or 250 total watts of CFLs?

One 250 watt CFL, i looked at someone els grow setup and they only had one for two plants, but it could have been a higher watt in which cause i dont mind going up or having more.

thats under a 125 W CFL with the WRONG spectrum. so i think you can grow two plants undar a 250 W. dont know if yield will be much though. i'll have to wait and see in about 6 weeks
