Absolutley......"double barrel purple micro dot" or "california sunshine" $ 4 bucks a tab......I made a small fortune buying it by the 1000 lot for $1.50 a tab and selling it for $4 each at the local Video Dance party place which also doubled as a Roller Rink.

I remember selling gas for $.16 a gal plus I'd wash yer windshield check ur oil, tire pressure, empty your ash tray, count out your change and hand you your Green Chip Stamps. Yea they made cars with ash trays in them!
An OZ of pot was called a "Lid" then later a "Can".
I was brought up to be accountable for what I do and respect to other people and their property, if I didn't I got my ass kicked.
Now days it's just easy to do whats easiest raising kids, and be their BFF.
Then when they can't get a job or stay out of trouble u can just do the easy thing and let them live out their pittyful life in your house and u can feed them, maybe buy them a car they can wreck maybe kill some one.
Then you hear poor Mom and Dad say how bad life is for their poor kids.
We are going to shit in a hand basket.
People are getting lazy and alot think they have things comming that they haven't WORKED for. /rant off/
:leaf:
Here here here the truth be told Those were the days

You can get a can of coke for 10 cents if you buy a 32 pack at Costco and what not. :D
You might be able to do that but you can't drop that dime in a machine and get a coke(real coke colas) like I droped my nickel and got one from a machine. When they went up to 6 cents thought we would have to stop buying cokes they cost to much. can LMAO about that now.

Walking home from school to an unlocked house, filling my dirt bike up with gas for 30 cents, traveling to MX races all over the USA @ 16 years old without grown ups, when you could afford to drive a muscle car as your everyday ride (70' Challenger, 383 6-pack), thinking I'd quit smoking cigs when they got up to a dollar a pack..................

Back when dirt was new!

1958 MGBG new motor and body worked to cherry $600.00

If you didn't want to eat what Mom put on your plate you went hungry.
10 o'clock curfew on school nights.
And Dancing??? People don't dance anymore, we had a dance every Sat. Night at the VFW Hall on Main St.
And I can still dance better than most!

This thread is all about the good old days....post whatever you can remember.
Remember when gas was 99 cents or less always
I remember when gasoline was .45 cents a gallon. I remember because I cut grass when I was a kid and rode my bicycle to the gas station with two gas cans hanging off the frame like saddlebags.

My very first business.

Oh, yeah. I remember Watergate, too.

And the day Elvis died.
