Quit Smoking Cigarettes

Quit New Years day....3 days no ciggies. Smoked off and on throughout my teenage years but picked it up as a habit in my early 20's....Over the years I've quit a few times once lasting as long as 2 years without any tobacco. This time I've vowed to do it differently. Along with giving up smoking I've also given up coffee. Once my body is relatively free of all the toxins I am starting an exercise regiment to get as close as I can to back in shape LOL....At least drop 20 lbs and get back my definition in my arms and chest.
For now I am drinking lots of water and eating small raw veggie meals and sleeping like 14 hrs. a day or more. So far so good I mean I gotta be honest its always harder thinking about quitting while you are a smoker than it is once you have actually stopped....what I mean is it's not really that bad,,,at least for me at this stage LOL.

I just started smoking mid last year... My friend rolled his own with no weed and smoked them he told me they where more harsh but hella alot better tasting and feeling so I smoked them for a few weeks straight. The first time I smoked it the head rush was so intense it almost dropped me to the ground. When I got home I was hooked to nicotine so i started buying packs of pre-made cigs... they tasted awful and didn't give me the effects I wanted... so I smoked like 3 in one sitting, almost a pack a day. I have cut back to 3-5 drags off a cig a day soon and hopefully none :)

btw- My first cigarette was on lsd so the effects where immense when the nicotine hit me.

2005, cold turkey. The only way to go, sucks for the first few weeks, but once you have a day down, why go through that shittyness again.

Take a joint break at the party while the girl is smoking her dart (don't forget to offer her some). You may even get your dinky stinky.

just keep it up. I rooting for you. the doctors say the addiction in nicotine is over after 5 days thats kinda the easy part its the natural habit of fireing up or with coffee and stuff......Im no expert I can only say that it wasnt so much the nicotine for me as it was just haveing the damn thing in my hand just to have something to do........I would light a cig off a nother one is how bad it got............anyways Im rooting for you.

I smoked for 28 years. A few times I quit for a year or so. But it was always hard. Now I haven't had one for 18 months or so and it I don't ever even want one.

I started collecting the good healthy fan leaves from a friend's closet grow and rolling this material into cigarettes. Then I quit cold turkey and smoked the leaf cigs instead. I never missed regular cigs. Maybe the tiny amount of THC or Cannabinoids in the leaf covered for the lack of nicotine. I don't know but now I don't smoke either type and I feel a lot better. I still toke up some good buds, but I don't go around with that stick in my hands any more and I don't need to take breaks to go smoke it either.

I went cold turkey over 5 years ago, after smoking for about 30 years.
The only way I could quit was to give up cannabis at the same time as both drugs went together for me.
5 years later and it is time to start smoking weed again ... I think 5 years is enough to say that I have finally given up nicotine and will never ever ever again smoke tobacco.
It's criminal that such a deadly drug is freely available.

That brings up a question......I quit after over 40 years of smokeing..........and I dont want one after over a year of quitting but is nicotine like alcohol? I have friends that were severe alcoholics and they tell me not a day goes by they dont want a drink but it no longer controls them but if they were to take one drink they would be right back at it...............If you smoke a cig would you want more again or would it be easeir to start smokeing again. Im stoned and just tossing out a question is all. Not sure I expressed my thoughts well hope you get what I was trying to say LOL Im fucked up

During my 30+ years of smoking, I quit a few times for a year or so but all it took was a weak moment, one cigarette and I was back to a pack a day.
The first couple of years are the worst - catching the small of someone smoking would trigger the urge, having a beer or even a cup of coffee would make me want a smoke - the non-stop anti-smoking TV adverts would make me want to light up.
I can't say exactly when I stopped getting any urges to smoke, but I have been totally drunk at parties where half the people were smoking and I simply never consider smoking even a single drag.

Knowing exactly how quickly nicotine can take over again is what keeps me from having another smoke, I would say that I am a nicotine addict and will be until the day I die, I will also never smoke tobacco for exactly the same period ... till the day I die.

Well it has now been 8 days with no nicotine.....Its getting easier but man driving is the worst.....sitting behind a guy at a light and he is just enjoying the fuck out of a cig.....After you quit you can sure spot someone smoking from a mile away......Went out to a retirement party last night and I had a few beers only had 1 ciggy all night,,,don't worry it was a left handed model so it was all good ;0)...I was sitting about half way in the middle of this large banquet room and every time someone came in from having a smoke I could smell it right away....LOL above the food....Above all the cologne and perfume(Italian Retirement Party)....Never used to worry but now when I toke in public I smell like weed afterwards sooooo......Now I gotta chew gum and use one of those gay little pocket sized hand sanitizers. Awww the sacrifices.

Just chuck one on when I feel the urge or am going to go out. Im now down to the Step2 patches. I also imagine Ill be a lifetime nicotine addict, shit sucks!
