I used to spend a couple of hours making custom insulated reservoirs out of 3/4" rigid foam and a Sterilite container covered in aluminum tape and weather stripping. Even though they sort of worked, they were flimsy, inefficient and hard to move around.

$8.99 for the cooler, $0.75 for the 2" rigid foam, $0.50 for the panda film, a netpot and hydroton and lastly no more than 10 minutes of labor and I have a new setup ready for a plant! By the way this cooler comes with a removable spigot for easy cleaning and a handy carrying handle. Even when filled with water the whole thing weighs less than 15 lbs. :)

i hear that man, i used to spend hours an hours with my soil grows, now with dwc i spend about 2 hours a week total, thats for everything rez changes every week topping off daily and the maintenance tests, love love

bad news lol couldnt move the plants inside to get any pics i had to put em in bondage in ways that make a dom say,hey thats kinky. and wedge em up cause they just about leaned over lol stinky bitches. peeeaaace

I had this issue late into flower had to take some twine and tie main branches together so they would quit leaning outwards lol

not to try and hijack the thread here, as you all seem to be doing a fantastic job of growing, but i had a quick question relating to the OP's first post.

has anyone ever tried to "trim" a rootball in a hydro setup? not to the point of trying to bonsai a plant, but just to keep it managable?

apologies if this would be the wrong place, but i was getting ready to switch my girls over to 12/12 in a week or so and this was a question i had thought about already

I wouldnt do it but I have read where people do it, it will probably stress the plant .

just my opinion but would u like to have to grow back ur baby toes lol. peeeaaace , but if u think u have to prune ur roots, prob a good idea to make sure it has b vits to help it along, i prefer superthrive or b52

haha, never thought of it that way! i definitely wouldn't grow a toe out the side of my foot to make up for that loss!

i think that i am going to let the males show themselves, then start to do some experimenting on them.

the main tops are showing about 60% amber on the big plant and about 50% amber on the smaller one, thinking ill start the flush by tomorrow if i dont have the time to do it today. peeeaaaace
