So i've been glueing my eyes to these forums for multiple weeks now and trying to get ready to start my first grow... Room Design, Ventilation, Lighting all of the difficult stuff... id like to have 2-3 plants going at a time as i'm only looking to grow for personal use.

I'm trying to keep things simple yet nice and i was wondering what everyone's opinions on grow tents are.

i guess the main question i have and its probably something you will get a chuckle out of but can you do soil in a grow tent cause i had a friend that produced a very nice batch of Sour D in a hydro setup in a Hydrotent (i think thats the brand) and he said you can only do hydroponics in a grow tent. Is his information wrong?

i suggest you keep reading and start small and simple.

https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/290681-official-ghetto-growers-group.html

read through this thread, it's entertaining, but it shows how little a grower can get by with. start by setting up your own small shoestring setup then you can go from there. see what you would like to add or take away.

maybe start out growing organic, and cloning with a bubbleponic. that way you can get a taste for both methods. I feel like I always get a better well rounded experience when I start something new in this way.

You dotn need to grow hydro in a grow tent, you can grow in soil IN a grow tent.

I would stay away from the ghetto growers guid unless you want to be ghetto!!.......better to spend the money and do it right then fool around wasting time and money on things that just arent as good or work as good...

"spending money" does not equal "do it right."

I would say read through it, it's not like you *have* to do anything or everything you read there. You might get 'inspired' like we did scrolling through here. We had come to a dead end on how to vent the room without 1) making it freezing cold in there, and 2) light leaks. But dicking around on here gave us ideas, and now we're 4 weeks from harvest and the vent system is just dandy. Is it "ghetto" per se? Kinda, since we had to jury-rig it and it's ugly. But it does the trick.

Whatever works for YOU is what's right!
