Yeah, you tend to see MASSIVE ops up here. I have only ever run a maximum or 8-1000w bulbs myself. Never had any issues with BC Hydro. I never stole power (sure way to get fucked over), and I always paid my bills. Mind you I lived in a 4 bdrm house so it's a little easier to get away with it than someone who lives in a two story duplex or an apartment.

Good common sense is a way to be. Try too turn off those little things more when running lights too try too keep a consistent rate. I know sometimes hot ass summers, and cold winters this is not an option for some but a little food for thought.
An apartment always seemed risky to me.
14,000w!!......me sooo small~good thread though ex-cop kinda cool will hit up some questions when he gets back.

The noose IS slowly tightening up here, and the govt. is trying to force companies like BC Hydro to hand over usage records to the RCMP, but at the same time, they are resisting these moves, and it seems like as long as you pay your bills (and don't melt your meter lol) you are generally fine.

Simple tricks can help too. I would use a coin laundry even though I had a washing machine and dryer. I put high efficiency bulbs in all light sockets. Even making sure to turn off lights when not in use makes a huge difference.

A woodshop or mechanics/steelwork shop can be a good cover. One of my friends built a shop, then stocked it with energy "inefficient" tools like leaky compressors that turn on all the time.....as well things like these can "mask" ballast noise, fan noise etc.

Hi ya Bud :)

Hope you had a good Christmas and your move is going to plan :)

I have a question , I'm in the UK so this is a shot in the dark , Any way to find out what time shift change over is at police stations ?

I live within a few miles of three different county lines and would LOVE to know the shift change over times ... The chances of the roads being a bit more .... errrmm ... safe to drive when you have a heavy load :)

I can go for days ...even weeks without seeing a single cop .... but the second i have anything with me ... it seems like every cop in the world is out on the road :)

AAAAAH. Forgot about another trick. When you first move into a new house.....rack up the usage as much as you can to create a baseline. Meaning, you first move in and only use X amount of energy, then magically 4 months later your usage jumps to 8X ....you stick out like a sore thumb.

You use 8X immediately after moving in, there isn't a giant unexplained "jump" in usage. Never had a problem following these basic rules.

Quick check-in. Just bumped into a buddy that is a local grower and he told me some VERY comforting news. He pulled out his little stash jar and I noticed a rather large evidence sticker from our local PD. Which MADE me ask WTF? He was the first major legal grow in our town to get raided back in 2007(as evidenced on the tag) and that is what they put all his "special personal" stash in and booked it into evidence. He fought in court for almost a year, with a public defender nonetheless, and charges were finally dropped. It took him 2 more months to get his stash back but walked in with a court order and got his stash back. Went outside, rolled a joint, and medicated in front of the PD!:hump::hump::hump::hump::blsmoke:

Our local PD will now only come and verify that you are operating within the state laws. This now being confirmed(a buddy that I had inspect my current grow said the same thing, but he IS still a cop) makes me think that my power bill is going to be quite large at the new house.

As for shift change, I would first find out what type of shifts they work(5-8s, 4-10s, 12hr shifts) and then just observe. You would not have to be in front of the PD, but just in the vicinity to see when the majority of traffic comes and goes. BE ROLLING CLEAN if you do this, just in case.

Budlover. I'm in wash state. Gonna throw a 30+ person party. Everyone has the option of crashing on the floor. If the cops show up...after stepping outside and not letiting them in then what? There may be some minors and I don't wanna be responsible for contributing to a minor...I am supplying the alcohol and there is a guest list and underage/21 braclets. I'm taking every precaution....I don't need a lame felony...

Are you the owner or renter of this home? That's the only person that would keep me out. I have been to parties where minors and alcohol co-mingled and had no problems. I would suggest, as I've seen before, that you REQUIRE everyone to surrender their keys to a non-drinking adult that can then judge whether or not someone is safe to drive. I, and I repeat, I would not have a problem if you took the wristband and key precautions. It shows clearly that you have safety in mind and are making every effort to keep the minors from drinking. Sometimes kids will be kids and there's nothing you can do.

BTW, don't forget I speak of Cali law though so I don't know what your local laws are. Have you considered asking a local cop about this? I KNOW there is some way to keep the homeowner safe, but he could best tell you and then it's already on record that there will be a party so an unexpected po-po arrival is less likely.

That's what I figured. I'll keep the minors keys but the adults? If I give you the option to crash and you still drive that's on you. You know? I'm not tying to play mommy just cover my own ass.

Thanks for the advice man. Makes me feel better. I am the renter yes. Lol. I'll keep a cop out....or my lawyer will. Cops get pushy but being around good and and cops I have a good handle on being polite but assertive and standing my ground. I know my rights and what cops legally can and can't do.

Some of 'em really hate it when you are educated, huh? I know it burned my ass every time someone did that and have since done it several times.

I see what you're saying about babysitting the adults, but it at least would give the appearance of concern. The first time I was asked for my keys I got mad but when my buddy just said "Hey man, I like you and would like to see you stick around", I could see he was doing it out of concern for me.

Oh ya. Cops get threatening...ill arrest you right here right now if you don't let me in...I just turn around and say go for it.....sometimes they do...95% they don't. They expect me to just bend over and let them fuck me dry....because they have a shiny gun and badge and pretty lights...guess what? I carry a gun too...didn't make my balls any bigger. It gets better when you demand badge numbers and supervisors etc. They don't want there pretty pension gone...

And about taking peoples keys....ya good point. I do like my buddies. Some can drive home though....don't like some lol.

You bring up a valuable point Kodank. Asking for ID and demanding a supervisor generally will at least chill them out a little.
