looks good man...the ccob one looks nice and healthy...i was careful when i trained mine so that the fan leaves was balanced well on the top of the cup so that they went even over the side...that might be why your fan leaves are going up like that....easy fix...stick a paper clip on it near the leaf on the stem...it weighs it down..get it out of the way and helps get more light to the side branches...i personally do not like cutting anything...even fan leaves...right now they are the main energy catcher for the plant...as it gets bigger and the side branches start tossing out a good amount of leaves...then ill start pruning a couple a week....but only if they have lost all their green color...once the green is gone they are doing you any good
subbed up to see how this goes...looks great man
Hey man thanks for stopping in! rep to ya. Yeah, I looked thru some of your pics again, and I can see how your doing it now. This is my first go at a "real" attempt to grow, if you can even call it that...much less any type of training. I was drawn to LST, honestly because 1. I wanted to keep everything short and compact, and 2. LOL it reminded me of how my grandmother use to train her tomato vines in a spiral shape around her cages in the garden...so I kinda felt like I had a handle on what I needed to do. But, it's proven to be more tricky in a small container indoors than a huge tomato cage outside in a garden. After I read your post here, and looked back thru some of your pics, I went up and did a little more tying down, and even tied a few of the big leaves down low, below all the tops. I feel like this will help a shitload. And the over-all shape of the thing looks alot better too. I jumped the gun before, and started just snipping a few of those big bastards off, and I hope I didnt do any real damage. I wont be doing that anymore, I think just trying to keep them out of the way will prove to be more beneficial. This is all on Gertie. With C.C, I topped her and got two tops now, so I just tied them apart. Earlier on, I tied her over (probably about a little over 45 degree angle), I dont think I'm gonna go too extreme with this one...I'd like to get a few more tops and attempt to train them in like a candelabra (for lack of a better description) shape, like some of the guys do in the party cups, and see how she does like that. I'll snap a few pics when I go back up to check on them later..Again everybody, thanks for all the help.
