I agree actually... thats why even though I was raised as a christian I will NOT raise my daughters the same way. I read into it too much and read things that I feel somewhat brainwashed me for a long time. I felt guilty about doing things when I shouldnt have. I will educate them on all religions and let them pick what they feel comfortable with...if they even want to pick them at all.

My Grandmother passed recently and while I was with her on her deathbed, her husband (of only 3 yrs-die hard baptist) tried to tell me that I was a bad mother and was probably going to hell for not bringing them to Sunday school/Church and not "teaching them Gods word." He also told me that my Mema felt the same way... ( although out of every single conversation we ever had she never said a word about it and Ive known her 29 yrs... ) I also remember something from the bible that says not to judge... so I thought that was kinda ironic.
I will always remember also, going to a Jehovahs witness meeting with one of my friends in Kauai ( Jehovahs are big there ) and they were talking about how women were less than men... I actually started laughing even though everyone was all serious in there.
I personally believe in a lot of scriptures in the bible, but I also think that people in the past wrote in what they wanted to write, to keep people controlled and as I said brainwashed.

:wall: ugh! dont remind me! its in my past and stillmy families present. i hate to admit but it is brainwashing. they repeat and repeat over and over untill you find yourself repeating everything you were told and believing it.

my child will not be raised using fear and guilt to teach morals we all have anyway.

Lmfao my ex is actually a former jehovahs witness so I know how that goes... I had Barb from the San Diego Chapter trying to convert me because my ex hubs mom was sending her over all the way from AZ. She was knockin at my door on a weekly basis... Not to mention I was never accepted by his family because of me chosing not to follow and join his parents religion.

God is not about guilt, damnation, judgement, ritual or going to Hell. God is about love. Pure love. Most "religions" distort that.

Geeze, you're a long ways from God My evil friuend, Sig-Heil. Your God is Mamon, or more currently expressed as Money. I think you are not qualified to preach, at least not Christianity. You wear it on your sleeve, but inside, you are a greedy devil.
