Miracle Gro vs Happy Frog End Results

I used Miracle Gro in 2 pots and Happy Frog in two pots . Both soils were ammended the same . Extra pearlite, kelp meal, and dolomite lime .

There are 2 different strains ,each soil got 1 each .They both was feed the same way also .

The plants in the Miracle Gro had a bad calcium def. And appear nutrient locked.
The plants in the Happy Frog are flourishing . 1 strain better than the other but both are healthy.

I didn't do this to disprove MG . I was hoping to come up with an inexpensive soil that would work. You could make it work but seems like you would have to ammend it alot .Definatly not a soil for cannabis out of the bag .

Happy Frog costs around $15 for 2 cu ft . It definatly grows cannabis "out of the bag "literally .

I just transplanted these into 3g pots with Happy Frog. I,m sticking with my Organics and decided to play with some ammendments this time.

8 cups Happy Frog
2 cups Standard Pearlite
2 TBSP Fox Farms Peace of Mind All Purpose 5-5-5
4 TBSP Kelp Meal
2 TBSP Dolomite Lime
6 TBSP EWC
2 TBSP Mexican Bat Guano

Cup = Party cup

Its not proven so , we will see what it does .

Yeah I have been back and forth on the Organics but all my reasoning for growing brings me back to it . I really liked subs supersoil mix and now that I understand alot more I want to start playing with hot soil mixes . I like the idea of just add water everything they need is in the pot .

Yeah I played with teas some . But didn't like dealing with the mess and planning on brewing ahead of time. Subs Supersoil is just add water period all the additives he ever uses is Liquid Karma i believe.

On another note got the first plant all jarred up . Got 45 grams of that one . I know thats not great but it,s my highest yield yet .What that equals to for me is a month and a half of pot and a savings of about 400 dollars minus grow costs .I'm happy , that shit filled 2 big mason jars .1 down 6 more to go .

nice dude bravo on the 45g's, hey that looks good to me it can only get better!!

Ya i use a tea i call it but i really dont brew just slap 1-3 tsp. of mex. bat guano and some epson salt in water and add like 1 1/2 gal.

thats all i do for veg, and seems to be doing with no problem happy frog has everythign to last until flowerign and i veg. for about 7weeks.

Also i would try buying 2 - 7gal pots and throwing them in side by side there really not to much maybe 2 bucks a piece. and seeing there size in your grow area.

They are amazing and if you want monsters u will get them for sure.

Thats what I,m thinking ! Monsters , sub grows in #7's,Riddleme grows in 5g buckets , I just upcanned some of my veg plants to #3's in prep for the #7's or 5g buckets.
I'm excited for this after seeing I was rootbound in the #3 in flowering. So I can't veg in 5's not enough room ,so I,ll veg in #3s for now I doubt they will root bind in a 3 in 5-6 weeks .

You've followed Riddleme right?

Umm i dont think so...

Ya i make sure they have 2gal. of unused soil when u flip them to 12/12.

So that would be perfect to 5gal or to 7gal but if your veg. in 3gal. flowering in 7gal might be a waist of soil.

they only need about a gal of soil a month for root growth i think, before it is totally root bound

Yeah sounds like the plan . Next time I go back to the nursery I,m gonna see just how much diff there is betwen a #7 and a 5g bucket , I bet its only around a gallon diff . Since the #ed pots aren't in gallons . It's just a number system to establish standard pot sizes . They hold less than the number given . I think my 3's might have 2 g of soil in them .

Riddleme has a knack for being a great teacher , it's like going to growing class following his threads . Some are somewhat long but full of good info and links . He's not an organic guy ,he grows in soiless mix with good cheap chemical non canna based nutes .
Check him out if you get a chance . Older guy full of knowlage and does some badass experiments. He has disproved and approved some growing myths , mythbuster style too .https://www.rollitup.org/members/riddleme-171313.html

Smoke report so far on the Pineapple Express . It's an instant high, that kind you can feel each time you exhale . It's preety smooth slightly harsh since it's not all quite ready yet .I am pleased so far . Got it in jars rotating and airing them out every 4-6hrs.Still smells skunky so far.
They went into jars Friday night and back out to paper bags 2 for 30 min about 6hrs apart . Now I,m happy with the dryness and will just burp twice a day .
