I think I'm standing pat with three strains right now. It takes so damn long to bring a new one on line if you are only growing clones. I cracked beans back at the beginning of August, and I'm not going to see that harvested for three more weeks, so almost 5 months to grow mothers, clone and flower.

I've seen lots of people on here (more lately) who are going strain crazy. Half the new threads on here are about someone's attitude order or a grow journal with somebody doing ten strains they just bought when they should be concentrating on learning how to grow one well.
I agree. Very difficult trying to read your plants when they're all telling you they want something different.

I like what you have going, very nice setup.:blsmoke:

Thanks for stopping by. Yes, it's a work in progress, but I've been working on it for a while now!

Yeah, that's some good advice. I'm going to have two different setups, so I'm thinking two different strains. I'm going to start with Chronic, but I also have some other really good genetics I may try to get worked in there.

Anyway, it looks like you have your setup getting pretty well dialed in now. Looks good bro.

I just got an order from HTG supply. 1000W Metal Halide lamp with a humongous (Big Kahuna) reflector. That sucker is huge! http://htgsupply.com/Product-Big-Kahuna-Reflector.asp

Unfortunately, the glass broke during transit. But everything else is fine and HTG is shipping out new glass today! I bought two Agromax bulbs, one for backup. They delivered their cheaper house brand. One phone call and my glass is shipped and they told me to keep the two Growbright bulbs and they're sending the correct ones out today as well. They are a pretty awesome company even though they never seem to get an order right.
Hey shanker, very, very nice. Just finished reading through your thread, impressive to say the least. I wonder how htg makes a profit? I thought it was only me they screwed up the orders, seems to be a common theme with them.

Hey HU, Thanks for checking my project out. I'm working on making it better every day. It's going to be long term cold here for a while so today I've hung reflective insulation around my bloom tubs. I don't want the air temp below 50 when the lights are off, since I'm in various different stages of flowering and don't want to slow down the new guys. It made an instant difference in the temperature around the plants.

I feel you about HTG. They are a great company but how do they do it? It makes me wonder about the markup on things like HID bulbs. Those list for like 60 dollars, I now have 4 of them and another package with (supposedly) 2 Sunmaster 1000s is on its way to me now; Tony upgraded me to those to make up for all the hassle Those list for 74 bux. It's going to force me to buy another 1000W ballast lol. Of course I've spent thousands there. . . . I love the reflectors they sell. I have 4 6" easy cools and the 6" Big Kahuna. I wish I had sprung for them from the day I started.

They are now on pure water. I may harvest in ten days or so. Trichomes are all cloudy (hmmm, USB microscope for Christmas?) and man are there a lot of them!

How come you flush ? Did you try not flushing like al b? Thx
I have never really flushed plants although I do reduce nutrient loads the last few weeks. In fact, the schedule I use in flowering has highest nutrient loads in the first two weeks of flower and tapers off quite rapidly. So this would be an experiment. I'm not really sure why I'm doing it, but I'm set up to fuck around a lot now. These plant remain mighty green at nearly 7 1/2 weeks. I've hardly lost a single leaf since I germed them. So. Maybe a little starvation? Personally, I think I could feed them meatloaf for the last two weeks and it wouldn't make any difference, they are just great plants and they are finishing great.

Wow, you've been around here since July and this is your first post, huh. Well, lurking around and studying Al. b Fuct is a great way to learn. +rep.

Most people flush

How did you like the smoke on the Chronic? Any sweetness to it? How was the high?
Hornedfrog, Chronic has a wonderful flavor and aroma. When I break up a bud to smoke the smell fills up the room (more than just the room) It also makes it very hard to concentrate on anything. If I go from one floor of my house to another, I have to keep reminding myself what I'm going there for. That doesn't always work! :D

Chronic buds are fairly dense but not rock hard. A oz of Chronic makes a large sack but it's not fluffy at all. And of course it's so easy to trim. A whole plant can be cut up in 5 minutes. I use to grow a strain that was like a bush; it was nothing but side branches and took hours to trim.

Have you gotten your seeds yet?

stupid question is on the way ...
can this be done in soil ?
Not a stupid question at all. My answer, however, is I don't know. Before I went hydro, I fooled around with hempy buckets for a year and I could not make that system turn around as quickly as this. I guess my question would be why mess with soil when you can use lovely, lovely water? I don't have to lug bags of soil or perlite or whatever. My medium comes out of a tap!
