As to CO2 can you give me approximate costs of what size tank I should get and how long they last? How much should I spend on a complete setup along with a meter to tell how concentrated it is? I imagine some kind of controller regulator connected to the sensor would be required to run a tank-regulator system properly and figured this would be a little cost prohibitive at the moment but was definitely in the plans within the year.

I have 2-60x LED lit battery powered scopes coming as soon as they get off the boat :) Amazing how cheap that stuff is on fleabay. My last 60-100x burned out the light within 2 months recently so figured I'd double up for when the next one fails. But when they're like $5 apiece online I'm not going to worry about changing bulbs just buy a new one lol

I've been considering how to convert the single my single 4x4 tent into a perpetual harvest with concerns of short veg and how to flush using only one reservoir and one light. Well I think I can set up a small veg area with some CFL's or T5's just to let the girls get happy before I send them to 12/12 and continue the SOG grow. Flushing was holding me back as there's no way to flush only a part of the tray. However, your mention of drip clean got me turning this subject over in my head again and I'm wondering what you think about using the product and pull the corner of the tray that's ready for harvest and just put it in my bathroom or something for 3 days with ambient lighting and flush the 3-9 plants in there. Don't know if I explained that well enough but I'm curious what your thoughts are if Drip Clean is that effective of a product.

I picked up 2 co2 tanks of craigslist for $40 then $20 ea to fill (actually it's an exchange like with propane tanks). It would not take very much co2 to get your tent up to 1500 ppm. I have a 13"x14" room and go through 1 tank every 2 weeks with a 20lb tank. Aquarium stores sell 5lb tanks too. All you need for co2 is a tank, a digital timer and a flowmeter/regulator. $300 is the most you will have to spend. Environmental controllers are the way to go if you have the $$$.

Your idea on flushing will work, it's essentially what I did with my last crop and it flushed in 2 days. A good trick to know when your plants are done flushing is break off one of the fan leafs and chew on the stem. If it leaves a bitter taste in your mouth then you need to continue flushing. Do this before you flush so you know what to taste for after you have flushed for a few days.
I don't think it is very effective to set up a perpetual harvest in an ebb n' flow tray. Reason being is that nearly every week of the flowering cycle the plant uses different nutrients. If you have plants in different stages of flowering some are going to be neglected. That is the reason I only run one strain in my tray, each strain has different requirements for nutrients in the flowering cycle. Hell right now I am in the process of filtering out all but one pheno for my tray for the same reason, every pheno is different. :leaf:

Few more shots from the other night day 45. I'll get in there and take some more pictures tonight after lights off in an hour and upload them.

Man lots of the buds have had orange hairs for a while and I'm noticing that the stretching colas (those closest to the light) are already milky in trich's and look damn near ready in my opinion. Can't see any amber and I'm only at day 46 (these pics from day 44). Someone else's journal detailed harvesting under similar conditions at day 63 so I think I'll shoot for that but man it's hard not to start cutting some of it down. Guess that means one more nutrient change (day 49-56) and then a week's flushing with straight pH proper RO water (days 56-63ish...).

As I have so much undergrowth and little popcorn bud in the bottom do you think I will find myself harvesting only part of the plant and allowing the bottom to develop more fully over another week or two? Any thoughts would be appreciated and I'll try to follow up with some macro shots this evening.

Changed the reservoir today and replaced only pH adjusted water no nutrients ... let the flush begin. 10-14 days from now I hope to be very busy harvesting.

So recall at the beginning I had put my clones in prematurely and a few were too scraggly for me to leave in. I pulled out 5, 2 were dead and 3 were dying and replaced the row of 6 with 6 healthy and happy looking sour diesel clones that now take up the front side of my tent. Well I put 1 in a bamboo pot in my kitchen in the 4" rockwool and lack of oxygenated water I think is what killed it pretty quickly. The other two I put on my north facing porch in winter, one in each corner. The one that never really sees direct sunlight is barely alive still but the one that gets a couple hours a day actually recovered and I think it might yield a gram or two... lol. Here's a couple pics of the little survivor sittin' outside.

The amount of orange and red hairs across the whole grow is nice and the trichs look cloudy mostly (can't spot any amber yet, but I prefer a more immature high) so I put no nutrients in my res change today (day 49 of 12/12) and the flush will begin. A friend suggested going to 11 hour photo-period to really force maturation quicker so I'll give that a try for a few days too. Can't wait for Christmas but I'll probably start taking little cuts next week for sample :) Just ordered a drying rack on fleabay for like $15 and a little hanging scale accurate to a gram for like $10.

Nice looking bud dude!
What kind of camera are you using?
Good luck with the rest of your grow!

Nikon D5000 with the stock 18-55mm f3.5 lens. On an aside this is a great camera for the budding (pun intended) photographer looking to step up to a DSLR. Getting cheaper too I saw up at Costco the other day.

I found some amber trich heads on one of the corner top buds! Looks like I started the flush right when I needed to. Got some new curved sheers and I'm anxious to put them to work sometime next week. Nothing to do at this point but keep the water clean in the tank and try not to molest the buds too much with my scope. I did bring the photo-period down to 11on/13off at the recommendation of my friend to induce faster maturation and resin production as the plant thinks "fall" is ending. Pictures coming in a day or two; too lazy to go take some and upload, lol.

just a photo update. gonna chop it all down somewhere between sunday and wednesday next week with about 7-11 days of clean water flushing. will probably swap out the water tomorrow and give the res a scrub as it's been a couple weeks since i got down on it.

Just emptied the reservoir and the water was slightly brown from old nutrients that dissolved back into the flush. Poured in another batch of clean pH adjusted RO water and gonna let it cycle for a few more days. Never actually trimmed bud, any recommendations on doing so? Was going to cut all the big leaves and any leaf tips that weren't close to the buds and let that dry out on a rack I bought then go back over it one more time for excess leaf after it dries and before it goes in the jars. Just tested my dry area overnight and humidity was 55-60% and right about 73 degrees.

Just cut and dry normally. Lots of people will tell you to get a dehumidifier but diligent bud checking works just as well. Make sure you've got space between each hanging bud, plenty of CLEAN free flowing air and the space is tidy. Have something circulating air too, just don't direct fans straight at the herb.

Gonna use a spare bedroom bathroom and keep the exhaust fan on without the light and also use my blower to blow fresh air in there and might put a normal little fan in there also just to move air around. I'll make sure to keep the air off the buds. Just unplugged my light and pumps this evening and zipped up the tent. When I open it up tomorrow sometime it'll be with a pair of scissors in hand humming Its Murda. Also just fired up a rip of a little nug I took a couple days ago and dried and it's so smooth. No fireworks or crackles so I flushed right and it tastes really nice.

Also bought 25 new rooted blue dream clones (well 2 are reported to be blue venom) so soon as this cleans out I'll be changing to 2-400W induction lamps (www.inda-gro.com) to see how the different lights change the per plant average if they do at all. Though I had the clone supplier over today and he was looking at the buds saying he thinks he accidentally gave me some green crack and hash plant clones mixed in with the blue dream because some of the plants are definitely not blue dream in his opinion.... well at least there's some variety and he assured me all but 2 of the new 25 are truly blue dream. Going to be harder to do a legitimate comparison now that I know the whole garden wasn't blue dream.

so 10 left in the tent still uncut i'm exhausted; trimming for like 12 hours.

so far couple dead, couple stunted and all popcorn (from being covered up by the other ones), and 2 hermaphrodites. not exactly sure what to do with the hermie's if I should just throw it away or make hash out of it. can't find any seeds in the seed pod looking areas and there's still a great looking top bud on both so any advice would be appreciated.

If there are viable trichomes you have yourself good material. Hermie or no hermie. Dead or not. If it's mold and pest free have at it in any way.

EDIT : Don't throw it out.
