Flowering Advice

Its been over a week of flowering, and my plant is now over a foot tall. I put it into flowering when it was 4 weeks old. Would it be possible to put it back into 24 hour light after it shows sex or should i just let it go through flowering without bothering it? Thanks for any advice given.

Yes you could throw it back on 24. But im not sure of the time limit once it show it's pre-flowers. I also think it could cause it to go Hermie. Let the veterens guide you through this. G'Luck.

yeh it COULD stress it if you change the light cycle back and turn it hermie!its strange it aint showing sex yet but be patient and it should do very soon!have you done anything to stress it recently,like top it?coz that can delay the plant showing its sex.

I would just let it go ahead and flower. I wouldnt be switching the photoperiods back and forth.
With most strains you can tell sex by 3-4 weeks veg. 4th or 5th node... get a magnifying glass and look for the male or female preflowers. You could probably had sexed it before you flipped the switch. The plant will still give up some decent bud... no worries, just that now you know for the next time. Plants most often double or triple in height during 12/12 so make sure you know how tall you want your finishing height to be and flower the vegging plants accordingly. Also, pot size. Rule of thumb: 1 gal. for every foot of growth.

I did top the plant but it was awhile ago, its had much growth since than so i dont think theres anything wrong with it. It just hasn't shown sex because its only been a week and one day into flowering (5 weeks and 1 day total so far.) Soon the time will come . I'll just let it be if theres any risk of turning the plant into a hermie.

how about pruning? the first set of fan leaves which only have 3 sections are starting to turn yellow and curl up and die. If i cut both of them while in flowering will the plant be okay or should i just leave them?

Man... I give up! IT IS SHOWING SEX YOU JUST AINT LOOKING IN THE RIGHT PLACE! IT SHOWED SEX A LONG TIME AGO IN VEG! I JUST GAVE YOU LIKE SOME REALLY GOOD INFO IN MY LAST POST AND HERE YOU ARE TALKIN ABOUT IT'S NOT SHOWIN SEX BECAUSE ITS ONLY A WEEK AND A DAY INTO FLOWER.
HERES SOME MORE GOOD INFO.... CUT OFF EVERY LEAF ON THE PLANT NOW AND THAT WILL MAKE IT TURN FEMALE.

damn man i wasnt being ignorant, i know what to look for and i dont see them yet. it could be a male and i just dont recognise the immature preflowers. with my last female plant, it took months vegging before it showed sex so i wasnt expecting to see anything on this one until at least a month into flowering. ill post some pics in a minute and see if anyone here can tell the sex yet..cause i personally dont see anything hinting a male or a female at this moment. Thanks for any future replys

This is right,they show sex between 4-6 weeks from seedling. its shold be 6 nodes. and it will show its peflowers between the 4th an top node when it does. I would give it a few more days of 12/12 and it will show.

Its is advised that you wait untill your plant shows preflowers naturally flowering too early can cause stress on the plant resulting in high male or hermie ratios

yea, i do think i started flowering way too early but i read ppl flowering at 2-3 weeks old so i just wanted to see if id get buds after only 4 weeks of vegging. We'll see if it works out or not, im hoping it does I cut one of the three bladed fan leaves off this morning, i'll cut the other one in 3-4 days. Thanks for the pruning advice Skitz. I put the pics up. let me know if you guys can tell the sex yet. Thanks again for any future replys.

i cant see anything to say what sex it is!is the room there completely dark when there resting or is light getting in?make sure its light tight!and just be patient im sure they show soon!and 4 weeks aint way too early!its about the minimum recommended time to veg for!thats how long i vegged my current crop 4!they showed sex very quickly!but some strains can take longer than others.

Thanks Skitz I appreciate you taking the time to respond. yes the room is completely dark during the dark period. i have them in a bedroom that no one goes in ever, so it has its own room. the windows are fully covered so no sun light gets in. I think it should do okay. Im fucking glad to hear you only vegged yours for 4 weeks. really reassuring that i will get something out of it in the end. Does everything look okay in the pics with the whole plant in it? If anything looks bad clue me in on it. Thanks in advance
