first time making hash oil . heelp ?

so I have 1 oz of some nasssttyy china .
+ 1 oz of some great at the time bud , BUT started to go moldy .
so I threw it in the freezer .

however .. I actually caused it to get frost bit .

I dont think it will matter , but just incase .
is there any ill side effects of using moldy/frost bit bud . for HASH OIL .

how much honey should I be expecting roughly ??
Im going to do more then one wash .
but Im more worried about the first one . :P .

also , Im thinking about using ISO .

questions , comments , concerns ?

whatever solvent you choose it will kill the mold spores.
a single wash is all you'll need
chill your iso in the freezer (you want the 99% strengthl)
you don't want to shake it to long or you'll extract chlorophyl too, nasty tasting stuff.
strain it through a coffee filter onto a glass pan and leave it outside to evaporate.
I prefer Naptha as a solvent, it doesn't extract chlorophyll.
Your yield is unknown. I now prefer making canna butter over oil.

I don't have it anymore but a few years ago I made a small device from six inches of about 5/8" i.d. steel pipe with threaded ends. I bought steel caps for each side and tightened one on permanently. I took a can of butane and found one drill bit the same size as the o.d. of the canister's tip and another the same size as the i.d. of its tip. I drilled through the center of each cap with the smaller bit. On one of the caps, I took the larger bit and drilled halfway through the first hole I made. That cap then had a hole that the butane canister tip would fit into and stop when it reached the smaller diameter hole. Fill the tube with pot, tightly screw on the removable cap, stick the tip of a butane canister in, aim the other end at a ceramic bowl and finally, press the can and tube together. The butane will fill the pipe, spray into the bowl, dry almost instantly, and voila. Perform in a well-ventilated area and wear gloves as the tube gets freezing cold. Allow some time for any remaining butane to evaporate before smoking. Warming it a little will help it cure faster.

edit: If memory serves, it worked best when cooled in the freezer first so the butane inside the tube stays liquid for longer. I believe it ends up a a gooey, golden resin and would need to be thinned to really fit into the category of "oils."

evaporate outside ? :\ ..
its like freezing outside .
stupid question , but will it still work ? LOL .

There is a way to make it using butane as well from a lighter refill butane can. The advantage being that butane is extremely fast at evaporating.

I would highly recommend you research it before hand as I have no real safe advice I could give you. I am used to using frmrboi's method. Old method but reliable.

Just giving you another approach/idea that you can look into.

You can put your bowl of Butane/Naptha in a container of hot water and it will evaporate much faster. DO NOT heat it on the stove top, you will have a big fire.

You can always invest in bubble bags =D. the trichomes fall to the bottom while the mold and spores create a foam that floats to the top =D Also washes your trich's clean from any dust, chems, or any other thing that they may have been exposed to so you get a really clean product. I just need to find a way to turn that solid hash into a nice gooey form like with butane extraction that i can easily smear on a paper for a delicious joint =D
I'm thinking there is someone out there who'm has invented a Bubble Hash -> honey oil extraction device. Still looking.

Pretty accurate.

Hot water, bath tub, razor blades & wrists ... 5 mins +/- till dead.

Solvents on a stove ... yea, you could probably save most, if not all, of those 5 mins.

Shit, after going thru bubble bags, why ruin a good thing. I would stop there and enjoy the "bubble". While oil is good....it's goooooooood. Bubble hash if made properly, is IMHO the greatest extract of pot I have ever had the pleasure and luxury of smoking.

Proper made bubble hash is damn near like acid on leaves. And hash is so much easier to handle.....no oil stains on your brand new white shirt.....just little pinhole burns in your new track pants....lol. Again, just my opinion.

You should look for a video called International Cannagraphic. There is one episode where the host of the show meets up with the inventor of Bubble bags, I believe from Vancouver, in some back jungle Jamaican pot farm. They purchased 11 kilos of Jamaican bud for 55$ a pop. Then they used it ALL. They made a shit load of BH, showing the steps along the way.

The one shot of the host holding what looked like a softball sized dark red/brown glistenting ruby in the sunlight.....OMG. One of my friends that BARELY EVER smokes weed watched the video and soon was asking me to roll one up. That's how appealing this "jewel" looked. We cranked the Bob Marley and got so stoned to that vid.


But the ability to choose between staying with the hash or making oil out of it with another simple step would be a cool option, especially if it was with one universal tool or device.

Just my two cents. I hope all turns out for you OP.

I hear ya. Scary shit if not ventilated right......and you should probably use an intrinsically safe vent fan to move the vapor out of the room.

although , Im not sure what you mean ?
I can do it anywhere in the house ..
but no way to vent it outside really :| ..
