Yes, but what happened to the spectacle? Safety and popularity and money are all fine in their own right but there is just NOT enough blood and suffering in the sport anymore.

I suppose trading Joe Son for Dana was a pretty fucking smart move on Frank and Lorenzo's part, they don't have to have a high chair at every UFC!

dana white ... he gives them hand picked easy ass matches to get them going.. then when the hype dies down he hand selects the guy who will beat his predecessor with ease.... only to use that guys hype..... strikeforce while it doesnt have has good of fighters puts on much better fights imo ....

Bas V Randleman. I don't remember if subDana was around then but that decision was pathetic. I love Bas, he is one tough son of a bitch to take that beating for 4 rounds and 3 minutes - but you do not win a belt for whethering a storm and the absolute only damage done was a tiny cut on the top of Randleman's head from repeated elbows from Bas' guard.

One I saw live - exactly the same - was Vlady V Vernon White (Lion's Den) in Montreal. Vlady beat Vernon like a red headed step child for 4 rounds and 3 minutes before Vernon got the ... side mount I think it was. Did no damage but was given the decision to tie the series at 1-1 so there would be a rematch.

And there can only be two possible explanations:

1. Ken Shamrock was a guest at the show to promote Vernon

2. Vernon didn't show the 843 repeated blows to the head because he's black. Vlady showed the one bruise on his shoulder that he got from bumping up against the ref on the way into the cage because he's a pasty ass Russian gym rat.

MMA.TV is the HOME of the UFC audience. subDana's job, his MISSION in life is to control the minds of the people on MMA.TV. The UFC have STAFF studying MMA.TV. They have pseudo screen names to cause fights and to keep interest. Everytime he acts like an ass clown on TV he goes online to measure response, direct his god awful acting. 'Cause Frank and Lorenzo tell him too.

It is where they get their audience for that god awful Spike network show. MMA.TV is where the UFC make their money, its their Nielsen Ratings <<< Link.

There is not a single post on MMA.TV - relevant to UFC marketing and direction - that Frank and Lorenzo don't know about.

Staying in fighting beyond their years is the nature of the UFC - it's exists closer to boxing but retains the spectacle of professional wrestling. The Colosium at it's finest. They are just fucking OLD! I can't believe that they are still fighting. Tough sons of bitches to recover from the daily beating the body takes training - but they only fight so many fights a year so the big names have time to recover.

Even so, my boxing training partner did his last match at 42, they just don't bounce back at that age. He did, but he didn't get hit once in 4 years of 8 round days. Can't personally say the same, would have been boring training otherwise.
