Okay, I would like to grow hempy style for yield. I hear this is the easiset way to grow hydro and the yield is exceptional. I have two 600watt hps cooltubes, I want to yield the most possible with these lights, should i do a sog?? how many plants should i go with under these lights? how big of contaciners should i go with? cant decide what strain either. Im torn with whiteberry. white widow, or killing fields? need help much rep

SOG gives high yields but you need clones, starting from seeds you need to grow them to maturity cant flower early so cant do SOG. i totally disagree that hempy is the easiest way to do hydro, you need to handwater a lot, unlike flood&drain or DWC. i also disagree that hempy yields as good or more, actually my experience showed me that both dwc and flood&drain yield more significantly. size of containers depends how big you gona grow them, if you have moms and clones and SOG you need quite small ones like 2gal. for big plants 5 gals or so. for the strain, it's totally up to you, no one can tell you with what to go, just make sure your buying from a reputable source. genetics is the most important factor. hope this helps.

the only ''hempy'' grow ive personaly seen were not done in buckets,they were in homemade 4x8 -6'' deep tables .100 cuttings per table.3wks after they root take a cutting from each of the 100 aand put em on the next table,flower the first table.takes some room but its simple and harvests well,between 1/2 to oz per cutting .a 600 watter is great for each table.1000's are ideal ,but 600's will work.

yes it is better than soil, but IMO its not the best, not the least maintenance and not less things can go wrong with hempy. i would definitely vote for flood and drain or DWC vs hempy as better in all these things. hempy buckets you need to handwater every couple days carry jugs and refill jugs. in flood and drain worst case is you find a broken pump and replace it, happens very rarely, just need to keep an extrapump and they're in a medium that would keep them surviving days without watering. DWC too you just need to have extra aipump the water can hold the roots surviving for days too, so it's just a matter of topping the res checking everything more time to care for things and better plants than hempy buckets. i chose DWC with small netpots as my method in SOG because it gave same yields as flood/drain or better, and there was no medium to change so often because cleaning and changing rocks is lots of work, so i just would empty the res thats been harvested cleaned changed nutes and placed new plants in flower.
