Baking my babies...

Hi! We just set up a grow room for my AF plants but the temperature is 83 degrees in there with fans and exhaust going. Does anyone know how hot it can get in there before it damages my plants? My husband claims it's okay to go up to 86 but I'm thinking it shouldn't be that hot or it will do something to the plant.

Thanks!

I manage to grow at 88 but the plants drink a half gallon of water a day too. The cooler the better but it's do-able

That temp is fine it will do damage over 90 degrees keep it round 83 88 at most.Humidity can be in the 50 -60's range even 70's but kee it kinda low And durring flowering keep the humidity down to like 40-37 just so u can avoid mold problems if they were to occur. Ive always went by the hotter it is the higher the humidity should be.If you counter the heat with high humidity the foilage will be more dense so it wont burn as easy. Not to high humidity tho keep in mind..."it will raise they heat a little the higher you go in humidity"If you have alot of heat with low humidity like 20-30 range your fan leafs will be paper thin and wont be able to hold up against the heat. So just keep a thick, dense, lush canopy of leafs with 83-86 degrees and 50-65% humidity the whole time threw veg with complete circulation with fans above and always below the canopy...u can fit up to 1 plant every 1'x1'x1'x1' square foot so id suggest tht depending on ur area of grow...if you need to know more on that send me a private message id be glad to help or on here :)

not to be nosy but where the heck do you live where it's 95 in the house? I'd freak out! How much water do you have to give your plants, or do you just grow 'em in the shower? (joking)

Thanks so much, kileroxx. I live in Colorado where there is practically zero humidity. I'm hoping 6 plants in a 4' x 4' x 7' area with good circulation will keep it just moist enough. I'll let you know. I may have to put some water trays around the plants. I'm thinking these will be fairly small as they are AF Fem plants that appear to not get any taller than 4'. Right now they are at 3 weeks in 1 gallon pots and are 8" tall and really really bushy. I just hope I don't bake them tomorrow when I switch them from T5 lights to the main grow room where I have the 1000 Watt HG light set up with 5 gallon containers. I'm hoping to transplant tomorrow. Cross your fingers for me...

Ill keep my fingers crossed lol...ya 6 plants would be nice...you could also think about going SCROG with this one to increse yield...it takes more time for you in the grow room but it is well worth the effort...and you cant go wrong with MORE..:) any way message me if u need anything else for a quicker response if ud like id be glad to assist you in ur grow

plus water trays would help but im afraid not enough...i have a small humidifier and is worth the purchase but its best to get one for the area of your room...and take into account air in and air out amounts and ull be able to control humidity levels as needed...i like to have an adaptable grow then to a straight constant stretch..:)

Hi All

Well, to 'Oldreefer', yes, we ran out and bought all kinds of fans and outlets and now have the air circulating through a contraption that sucks air through the light and out a vent to the outside. It's all quite interesting and it took the husband 2 days to construct. The temperature is now at a comfortable 83 degrees max during the day and 68 degrees at night. My AF Fem Jock Horrors and Bubblelicious plants are beautiful! They are already showing signs of budding and are only 9 inches tall at most. I'm going to give them a diluted amount of FoxFarm Big Bloom in a few days as I just transplanted them into 5 gallon pots yesterday and I want to give them a little rest before they have to do the work I planted them to do. As soon as I figure out how to get my pictures off of my smartphone and onto my computer, I'll post them (hopefully today).

I want to thank everyone for their support. THIS SITE ROCKS!!!

Sweet cant wait to see
Okay...here are my pictures as promised. Remember they are taken with a cell phone so I apologize for the poor quality.

The first three are the plants in their new home...if you look at the top of the second picture you can get an idea of what was hung from the ceiling..and the sixth picture shows a good shot of all of the apparatus my husband added to cool down the room. Pictures 4 & 5 are what the babies looked like before we put them in the 'grow area'. I'll update as things progress.

By the way, I can actually see tiny little hairs (pistils?) already in the fourth week and they are at most 9" tall and stinky already. I LOVE MOTHER NATURE :blsmoke:.

Thanks, I'll let him know you said so. For someone who never smokes the stuff, he sure knows how to help it grow
