closet1.jpgcloset3.jpgcloset2.jpgcloset4.jpgYo, I'm very new to growing.. I'm looking for advice on how to setup my small grow room/closet. It's 4 ft width by 5 ft length and 6'8ft tall. I have a area to run my exhaust through the celing already but thats about it. Looking for any tips or easy designs to get started.. how to suspend /hang my light i'm going to purchase a 600w hps. Here are a few pics so you can get an idea. ;-)

Possibilities are endless, give us a clue as to what you want. Soil,hydro,etc...reg or auto, just one space or do you want to split it up?? I can answer your light hanging question, just get some chain, those yo-yo's suck.

chains and S-hooks work pretty well, especially if you aren't moving the lights a lot.

I tend to move my lights a bit, so I ran some eye bolts into the ceiling studs and hung it all on pulleys.

Soil is cheaper to s/u, and is a bit more forgiving. You will need a fan to cool your light, and a fan/filter to exhaust the room. Some kind of intake unless you plan to add co2. Timers, pots, soil, perlite, nutes, Mylar(white walls are good also ). That should get ya started.

In a room that size and with just a 600W HPS you wont need a fan to cool the light, juts an oscilating fan on the plants and your intake/exhaust

If you are new to the whole thing I would go with soil, hydro I would recommend a 4x4 ebb and flow setup! I really like Mylar and as far as your lighting you could go with a 400/600 switchable. Use the 400 for veg and then go to the 600 for flowering. But I do recommend you air cool the lights and have good ventilation in the area. Just remember simpler is usually better for someone learning and build from there. Everyone on the site has different results and no of them are bad. Figure out what you feel comfortable using. Just keep in mind soil will allow you to make some slight mistakes, hydro is not so forgiving. Good luck and if you need any other help feel free to PM me.
