Taking clones, does this always happen?

Would you reccomend watering the clones with a mild "grow & micro" solution? Also should the rockwool be touching the water?

Also, I am trying to root another clone in a net pot with the stem protruding through the bottom and hovering just above the water. Using rooter gel. This should work too ya think? Id like to see how long it takes.

don't give them any nutes. Let them use the food stored in the leaves to grow roots. If you give them to much food and light they wont root. If you make them seek out food they will root faster.

No Nutrients Unless It's a rooting Compound, Solution, Or Hormone till It has roots

I leave the net pots close enough to the water to be spattered by the bursting bubbles but not in the water (An Inch Maybe two Above ) ... Make sure they stay moist But don't drown them :)

And yes that method will work One of my videos I have a cutting I just put into a clear glass cup ...no bubbler, no nutrients, no medium, Just cup, tap water, and plant and It rooted just fine Sun hitting it and all (not recommend) But the point was that the art of taking cuttings from plants and placing them in water is far older than our new aged advanced growing techniques and it works ...That plant stayed alive for months and months in stasis In just a cup of water ...A great way to keep genetics Stored small but Alive :)

Very clean setup man! Are those temp sensors on the 2 tubs? Are you using rapid rooter plugs with hydroton there? (pic 2)
sorry i didnt reply sooner man no those where the rock wool clones i took went straight from the humidity dome to the dwc system's those are now in my flowering room in pic below they are getting big now all ranging from 14 16" and ya those on my systems are water temp sensors they work pretty good and the clones i just took in rapid rooters 80% rooted in 4 days got them in the systems now and doing good and the others are still in the dome probably root in a day or two.

Yes,,, rockwool... yuck,,, my first ever clones from cuttings and I over watered them,,, hell, I was really trying not too,,, half have rooted,,,3weeks!.... I shook out the excess water and now I weigh them everyday... I read from al b funkt that you want them about 25grams.wet... if they need water dip a corner in... seems to be working well several more have come around, and I can tell the others are getting close..... some leaves sure are yellow! more so than other pics I see... I havnt killed any .. whew! they were in a clone dome, and I was misting them 2x a day,,, all that water was absorbed in the rockwool... took me awhile to figure it out,,, I also had the dome on way too long (2weeks!) I didnt know you were suppose to wean them off the dome by day 4 at the latest.... damn noob... I was kinda pissed at myself

man i know exactly how that is same story here wanted to do away with the rooter plugs cause they are a pain to stick in the rock wools i use(to loose) thought hell just root in the wools then straight to the pots but noooooo so i got on here and read al's cloning technique in wools went out and literally rang them out like sponges then salvaged the ones i could and down the road i just get spare wools now and cut slivers and fit it around the plugs during transplant works great lol.

Yeah man I know what your saying I had a feeling it was too wet for them, I too now pay attention to how wet or heavy each 2inch rockwool clone weighs, I now have some plugs which you soak in water and they expand, these are rapid rooters right? so far the clone i put in the rapid rooter is looking healthy green with no yellowing. So far so good.
