She'll be ready whenever you decide it is (assuming it isn't too small/young yet). Are you growing indoor or outdoor? If indoor, then you control that with the light cycle. If outdoor, the daily variation in darkness hours will take of that.

Im growing indoor.

the answer is in the length of the plants you can have.If you have heght restrictions,earlier is better than later.Trust Me!You can flower whenever you want like Trabecula said.That will be one big factor to how much bud you can yeild.

Yep. I think that's the cornerstone of it all. Keep in mind that most strains will still grow a lot during the flowering phase. In my first, and only, grow, one of the plants was about 25/30cm when I changed to the 12/12 cycle and when I harvested, it was above 1m.
