I would never use an LED. I would rather find a way to pump out hot air and bring in cool air. LED technology has whiffed in the grow world as the PAR rating (not Lumens as they are what the eye can see, photosynthetically active radiation is what light intensity plants use) is sub-par, at best. PAR is the amount of photons the light emits at the proper spectrum used by plants, which is between 400nm (blue) and 700nm (red). I haven't seen a great grow yet with a UFO or any other LED. Any information on these LEDs that is not believed, can be researched or get High Times 2010 Master Grow Guide and the article is titled "Future of Lighting" . I would just go with T5s if heat is an issue. Lowes has an 18" T-5 ballast for $25, which is awesome. Pyro Peaches, you might want to look into getting a few of those at $25 a piece and mix up the spectrum of bulbs instead of getting a high priced light.
