Ok so at least you admit you are a liar, claiming hundreds of these so called pat downs, yet actually only receiving one is a lie.

I have NEVER received a TSA pat down, never been patted down by anyone, ever. I have not committed any crimes to warrant such an action against me. No probable cause.

Puffer machines and dogs that can smell explosives are far more effective and far less invasive.

If you were allowed to assemble a 100 man team, had a $6 BILLION bankroll to fund you and were given a year to find one single terrorist could you do it? Well the TSA has a 60,000 man team , $63 Billion and nearly a Decade and has yet to capture, identify or thwart one single terrorist, not even one. Hows that for bang for the buck? $63 Billion and you get Bupkis.

Nodrama, the process of being booked into a correctional facility, goes FAR beyond being patted down...."lift your nutsack up" and "spread your cheeks" are pretty much the last things any man wants to hear.....Ive had more "invasive" searches attempted on me, once it was completely unreasonable. (I had a soft cast from base of my fingers to my shoulder and that arm in a sling, I was asked to remove the sling which I did was then asked to move or remove the soft cast which I refused...A manager was called and allowed me in...this was at an Allman Bros. show in the 90's at Great Woods)

I used to go to alot of Hardcore shows in Boston back in the day, Id say that once the scene started getting kind of violent the searches got more and more intense. And yeah I had my crotch patted down at that point. If you refused you couldnt enter. No exceptions. Now, Im never going to say that it was pleasant or that it didnt bother me, it did.

But I looked it like a tradeoff, I traded being patted down for a little bit of peace of mind and the knowledge that there would be alot less weapons involved inside the show. It was no where near being perfect, weapons (razor blade in the mouth) would still get in, but no where near as much as before they started being more aggressive.

Im not defending the the TSA searches, they fall way short and seem to be misguided...I would not go through a scanner nor would I allow my wife and kids to. Its whats in place, and i do feel a little better than there being nothing. That being said it seems kind of wasteful and not very complete. I would go through a "puff" machine, that seems a little more effective and safer than the scan. Or allowed myself to be sniffed by a dog or other animal (Ive seen they have a training program for that going now)

Go easy on the poor TSA workers man, they are just working stiffs getting paid shit. The problems arent their fault, as usual the problems start at the top.

Im a tattooist. I tried to fly with some of my equipment after calling the airline and it was a complete hassle. I ended up having to ship my power supply and machines by mail. And having a rush delivery of inks, needles and tubes sent to my destination by my supplier. It was a nightmare, I didnt have all my gear for 2 days of my trip, it cost me a ton of $ between lost work time, the shipping and having to purchase Inks needles and tubes.

You may not appreciate it , but its the truth. You lied about the "hundreds" of TSA style pat downs you have never received. In a court of Law everything you said would now be considered deceitful due to the previous lie. But im willing to forget all about it as long as you concede that the TSA patdowns are illegal searches, unconstitutional and a perversion of justice. And your crotch isn't going to be "patted" they are going to use their open hand and FEEL their way around. TSA calls it a "pat-Down" because then it seems so innocent and not like a real invasive search at all, but the fact is it isn't a "pat-down" at all, its a grope session that if anyone came up off the street and tried to do that to me would soon be relieved of an appendage and then would be duly sued in a Court of law.

The fact that they stay on and tell others how much they enjoy their job is BS, they stay in the job because it affords them protection from prosecution so they are free to fondle and get their jollies off. Just because some Gov't entity tells you to sexually assault someone does not make it OK, even if it is all to keep us safe. Your 60 times more likely to be hit by lightning than be the victim of a terrorist. If you are really concerned about safety you will never set foot outdoors again.

I didn't see many people get put through the scanners (mostly old ladies who don't understand that earrings qualify as metal and need to be taken off) and not once did I see anybody get pat down. If anything there was LESS security this year, as 2 years ago I recall going through the puffer machines in Chicago and Jacksonville (maybe Atlanta too but I can't remember exactly).

yeah, due to the amount of grief the TSA received they pretty much turned the machines off for this, the busiest holiday travel season of all. Which only proves the point that they don't really need the machines anyway.

no where did you see me ever defending the patriot act. to be hoest, when it came out i heard it read a little of it and didnt see anything that stuck out to bad. all i know its a lib whipping post for the last ten years and to date i dont think anyone has been wronged via the patriot act. i may be wrong but i dont think there is a single law suit. at least not a mainstream published news story.

I do agree with much of Pauls agenda, especially this area. I agree with his foriegn policy and much of his domestic policies. Where I disagree with him, is on his massive privatization of all social programs. His elimination or privatization of Social Security is especially a sore spot with me. now, as far as the radiation goes, please everyone just stfu with that bullshit. the amount of radiation is about 1000x less than a normal x ray, which is a minimal amount of radiation to begin with.

that is all. i will likely never experience any of this as i exercise my freedom to drive, even if it is on roads with black ice, drifting snow, and 60+ mph winds as it happened to be this year.

almost forgot to point out to everyone that if you object to these new measures, there are many private airlines to choose from as well.

Pilots and flight attendants have a much greater exposure to ionizing radiation because of their extended time at high altitudes. Doctors, nurses, in fact most hospital workers already have a much higher occupational exposure to ionizing radiation. To say that this miniscule amount of radiation is harmless is like saying "Eat this miniscule amount of lead. It's not nearly enough to make you sick so just STFU and eat it already!". I recently read that there are 2 types of these scanners. One that uses X-rays (ionizing radiation) and one that uses millimeter wave technology (essentially microwaves). The millimeter wave machine doesn't emit ionizing radiation and seems like it would be the safer choice. There are some of these machines in use but my question to the TSA is why are we using x-ray machines at all if there is a safer alternative?

Reports are surfacing, for example, that in response to a pre-Thanksgiving Day call for air travelers to “opt out” of the full-body scanners, at many TSA checkpoints the scanners were purposefully turned off in order to minimize the chance for a successful “Opt Out Day,” and to ease the PR problems faced by TSA.

i'll take the doctor on his word and suppose that radiation is cumulative. the levels of radiation from these scanners are still so miniscule that it does not matter even if you fly 3 times a day and set off the metal detector and refuse a pat down (more like shake down, it seems) every time.

and yes hayduke my wife opted to fly an i opted to drive. it was a long, white knuckle drive. still beats flying in my book...i fucking hate how they rip you off at every possible turn at the airport ($7 dollar for a budlight? go fuck yourselves), the inability or risk of bringing meds, the long hours without being able to puff a cig, the way they treat you in general (beyond the new procedures)...flying used to be so much better when i was a kid. also, i have a recetly developed fear of flying. not sure why...

an x ray has some amount of radiation.

the amount you are exposed to is minimal, because you wear the lead apron.

the amount of radiation you are exposed to in one of these scanners is a tiny fraction of that. a teeny tiny one.
