210 watt cfls compared to 250 hps

Do any of you know how much more power a 250 hps light will use compared to 210 watts worth of cfls (2-105 watters) ... I know it will be more (due to the ballast and all that )but I was wondering if anyone has a general idea of how many more Kw's more?
Reasons being are
1-Don't want a HUGE electric bill
2-Want to use Hps but afraid of number 1 (haha)
3-Yeah I can't think of a third one
Thanks

Depending on where you live the average cost of running a 1K light 12/12 is about $20-$30 a month in electricity.

Well typically 210w of CFLS' would consume about 130w of electricity per hour. On an 18 hour cycle that would use 130x18x30=70200 watts per month or 70.2 kw's per month, so just multiply that by how much you pay per kw of electricity.

A typical 250w hps would draw 2.5 amps on a 120v system which would be 300w of electricity per hour, on an 18 hour cycle would be 300x18x30=162000 watts per month or 162 kw's per month or over double what the fluorescents would use.

I just figured out that the 400 watt hps will cost roughly 12.39 cents/ month thats not including my timers pumps and fans. But I want to grow a split room type thing, One veg. chamber one flowering and i was going to use my old four foot flouros for the mother plants and clones (if i can get the cloning tech. down (never been able to do it before)) but I'm thinking that will make the electric bill quite high. If any of you have near the same price/kWh (.086 cents) and have a setup something like what I am thinking of (if you can picture it too) could you by any chance figure out how much your bill went up/month for me?
Thanks a ton!!!

A 400w HPS would use -

3.8amps on a 120v system = 456 watts

On an 18 hour cycle would be 456x18x30=246kw per month x .086c = $21.15 Don't know where you get 12.39c from.

If you can get it, use Root Riot and Clonex from growthtechnology.com, you'll get 100% successful clone rate.

Thank you, I didn't think I did my math right HAHA. Never been good with math. Science, Bio things like that I'm good with HAHA. I have Rootone but I just could never get them to root. The only time I have had success was by putting the cuttings in a cup of water and putting it in a window sill. But then I got lazy and forgot to transplant them HAHA. But thanks again for the math.

I just did out what you have there for math but I did it out for 12 hours cause this light will be for my flowering chamber and I got $14 and some odd cents.
