i've been reading silently to this grow, and the more i read everyone elses grows the more i find i could use their whims to my benefit. subbing this right now i want to see how this grow turns out :)
Welcome alan, the more the merrier. I lurked around for a bit before I dove into my grow, like you said it's a great way to learn. Let us know when you start.

Lights just came on, so I'm about to go water. I'll post pics when I get back.

I'm back with the weekly update as promised. The first four are 25 days from seed with the second set a week back. I plan on letting them veg for another 2 weeks then I'll flip the first set to 12/12. I feel like they're small for their age which is why I'm giving them some more veg time.

I removed the string from around the stem and wrapped it around. You can sort of see the indentation from the growth.

I feel like the younger ones could use some more light. They're under a single T5 right now. I'm looking at a T5 4' 8 tube setup for when I get the money. I didn't think much about vegging when I was planning so I'm working out the kinks now.

Everything is looking great man! Nice job on re-anchoring the stem, looks much more stable and less stressful on your girl. I cant believe the string left a mark in the stem already, just means she's growing up fast and strong! Keep up the good work

The tip you gave worked well, I was surprised at how fast it grew too. And let's hope for a good number of females, I'm working with some bagseed.

Speaking of, I'm ready to order some seeds and was thinking of going through Attitude with Nirvana beans, more specifically PPP and White Widow. Any thoughts on Nirvana or the strains? Does anyone have experience or recommend the feminized seeds?

they look good man, and man she is laying low to the dirt nice work.
and as for enought light well i vegged under one 200 watt cfl and vegged 18 plants just fine, they had no stretch probs or any slow growth. if your t5 is putting out any where up to 200 watts you should be fine.

I didn't know if the plant being that close to the dirt would be a problem but I guess not. The T5 I have now is a single 54w so I moved the younger plants to under the CFL's. It's packed in there now but I can already see a difference in their growth. I'm going to try and move the T5 with the CFL's when I get a chance. That would give me 216 total watts between the CFL's and T5.

looking great bro good luck
Thanks for stopping in and the well wishes. More to come so stay tuned...

Glad to help! I've heard good things about nirvana but not so much about attitude. A few dispenseries near me actually refuse to sell anything from attitude. I would definitely recommend white widow tho. It responds VERY well to topping and LST plus its one of the greats, hard to go wrong! As far as feminized seeds go, they will produce a greater ratio of female to male however a feminized seed can still hermi so watch closely during flowering. Is it possible for you to get clones? If you can I would recommend getting some considering they will definitely turn out female and you dont need to deal with the chance of getting bad seeds, hermi seeds or weak plants.

Unfortunately, I don't have access to clones. I wasn't really thinking too hard about my veg room and now I'm realizing that I need to make better use of the space I do have (i.e. only females).

As a side note, I feel like I'm under watering my plants. I basically water slowly until I see the first few drops of run-off and then I stop. Is there anything that can be done with the run-off or is just waste?

you could place the pots in some sorta of dish. that way the run off will be reabsorbed from the bottom

i just toss run off out, if you pour the water slowly the soil should absorb what it needs to, if it has absord all it can it wont take any more up that came out, and sitting water is a good way to get fungas gnats. you could take the dish it drained into and then use it on top of the soil again and if it runs out it means theri is enough. i only watered my plants til it had a small runoff to. i would water slowly let it soak in while i watered another plant and if it didnt go to the bottom or the pot felt to light i woul give it some more

I guess I was feeling that way because between all my plants I haven't used over maybe a gallon and a half per watering total. I told myself I wasn't going to OVER water and now I'm paranoid that I'm under watering :?:

No your good, thats exactly how I do it. Water them until you see a little runoff out of the bottom. If there super dry sometimes you have to soak them because the water seems like it just shoots right through if you water it to heavy..

the water wouldnt sit long enough to develop those problems. as the soil dries naturally the run off would be sucked back in. he says only a little runoff, the water'd be gone in ten minutes, max

Overwatering is more commonly an issue of frequency, not amount of water.
