I need a bigass PC Case, how big are the ones everyone is using?

I have been having issues finding something that is large enough to comfortably fit what I want to use. I have seen some large cases here and there, but the one that I did find, was misquoted on the website I ordered it from.

It was such a letdown. I literally have everything else ready to go, just need a damn case. I am about to settle on a utility closet of some sort. But then the fans and odor control bits would look really out of place.

Thanks much!

I wouldn't order any PC case because I think if its over 100 dollars for a metal box with 3 hours of work from the guy whose selling you it isn't worth the money and is better off building your own or buying some weed

All opinions are welcome, but I was really looking for a lead on a great case...not a reason to ditch all of the stuff that I have ;)

You can try and go down to a recycle place and see if they have PC cases for cheap or maybe free and you can harvest the inners yourself, I've heard PC cases bought sometimes comes with more then 1 plug maybe 3

I'm searching for the same thing bro, and i discover that the bigger ones is hella expensive.. Like 200€ or 150€. Try to ask some friends if they got some old ass PC case like i'm trying to do. But the only question i got is.. if the old pcs doesn't suport 4 fans in it you know?

The cost is less of an issue, as I would pay 100$+ for a good case that suits my needs from the beginning. I only have to buy it once, and get one decent yield for myself, to offset the cost of the entire thing. As most people know, this isn't a project to yield for the neighborhood...it's just for the personal use that would otherwise cost me a fortune.

Finding the height has been the least of the challenges thus far. The case that is shown in the beginning of the thread in my signature, was my ideal choice....but the front-to-back depth was about 3" too short. The biggest challenge is finding the depth to hold the bulb/socket...which is about 21" with no wiggle room.

Realt talk bro, when i see a pc case with some good depth it isnt tall enough... and when i get a tall one.. the depth sucks.. I guess we need to continue the seaching for a good pc case ( I'm trying to get one too ). Anyway, good luck.

I'm still at an f'n loss in this situation. The last 2 attempts at ordering, the size specs were wrong (even when 'verified' by 'customer service'). I've eaten enough in shipping to have bought at least 1 outright already.

I'm so tempted to get the giant Obsidian case, but gutting it looks like a total pain in the ass and waste of money lol.

I seem to get flamed more for this question on any PC forums, but I'm about to give up and eat more shipping returning the rest of the shit I already have.

Anyone have any suggestions for finding a decent salvage site or finding a good old fashioned server case that would be at least 23" deep, 9" wide, and 23" high? I know they're out there ;/ Even craigslist WTB ads have failed.

Old fashion server case :) I love em thats what my pc build is in. Bottom link in my sig starts off with a small case but then I remembered I had the server. The demensions on it are like 22 1/2 L x 17 1/2 W x 25 1/2 H.. If you look on google for old servers you might have better luck. I got mine from my old high school about 7 years ago, so if you look for servers dated back in the 90's you would probably find something for the size your looking for.

It's a matter of the perfect google search terms storm. I have sorted through pages of bullshit trying to find that 1 ghetto ass nerd who sells old monster cases. But they aren't out there for me lol.

Holy shit, 17 1/2" wide? The height and depth are certainly on par for what I need. My main problem is that the bulb/socket/reflector I have will require 21 1/2" in depth...the height and width seem easy enough to find.

You'd prolly be better off just going out and buying 2 sheets of 3/4in MDF and building a box, your going to have a hard time finding a 22in wide pc box thats also over 2ft tall and around 2ft long.

Maybe I misspoke earlier in the dimensions I desired, but 22" wide isn't a requirement for me. I need 22" depth, front to back, for the light/socket. I'd like to have about 22"+ height and 8"+ wide. I have seen more than a few that are 24" deep, 24" height, and 10" wide. I may just end up having to do that and mangle a beautiful 200$ case lol.

I could easily just use a metal utility cabinet, but the whole point of the PC Case is the stealthy factor ;p

Yeah, that is a pretty standard find for a good price...it's just not deep enough for my needs. I think 473mm comes out to about 18 1/2". I'm starting to wonder what memories I'm replacing with the 300+ cases I've looked at in the past 2 weeks lol.
