I'm growing lowryder #2 right now..... i started them 9 days ago (put them in wet paper towels over night then six in dirt and two in my aerobucket) there already starting there third set of true leaves....... 7 days out of the dirt. i had done alot of looking into this plant before starting it. i'm sure i can get an ounce or two off each plant, it seems that for this stain a large area is need for the root mass. i put the ones in dirt into two gallon buckets to start, when sex shows i will pull all but one male and remove the bottom from my buckets and put them on top of five gallon bucketsfilled with soil. i pre cut my buckets and duct tape them to keep the dirt in. this is the best way i have found to "transplant" it seems there it NO stress this way. these plants grow themselves from what i've gathered. just give em the basics. i'm not giving them any nutrients untill the sex shows. i use my own soil mix. compost, top soil from a local celery farm, vermiculite, some beach sand and peat. it seems to do the job.

oh oh oh. i have never smoked lr or lr2 so i can't say.
it says nine weeks from seed. everyone seems to be letting them go ten or eleven weeks..... everyone being people who's grow journals i looked at.
they average 16 inches, but it will all depend on your pot size. bigger pot=bigger plant. there is a guy on here who says his lr2 is almost four feet tall.

4 feet tall? thats crazy. i want to grow low ryder so bad. i never even smoked it, because all we have where im from is skunk, soud D and haze. sometimes dealers dont know what kind of weed there selling themselves.

i got mine from drchronic i ordered them on december 20th and got em on the 27th. one week, even over christmas. out of 8 seeds planted 8 sprouted and four are girls, i sexed all but the last girl on day 17! the last was sexed on day 20 and she's the smallest plant. it's been 25 days from seed and my room smells GOOD!!!!

Thanks for the info. Those seeds are auto flowering correct? Does anyone know if you are supposed to change light schedules with these or not?

i'm on day 28... or week four from the time i PLANTED. i've kept em on 18 hours the hole time. my best is 8 inches and has a nice lil cola kickin and about 16 other lil buds formin. i have pictures but i'm not posting till the grow is over (in five weeks) one in the aero bucket isn't buddin as good but is bigger. my smallest one in dirt is 7 inches and is buddin out nice too. your gunna love growin these girls, expecialy after week three, they EXPLODE. smells like roses to me so far, but thrics aren't formin yet. if i rub a stem it smells sunky.
oh yeah at day 19 i had a male that i put on 24 hours and it's growth is stunted.... i switched it back to 18 two days ago and in two days the top nutsack cola formed. i think the 6 hours off REALLY HELPS THEM OUT

LR2s can turn out real nice provided you look after them and they get enough light.
I use a mix of biobizz grow and topmaxx bloom and molasses for nutes, in organic compost mixed with perlite.
They grow to around 16", or atleast all of mine have.
Pot size neednt really be much bigger than 3Ltr.
Dont know what lighting you using but if youre doing CFLs, use an even mix of Daylight and Warm white bulbs or the first 3wks, then after they show sex, usually around day 17 for males and 21 for females, change to all warm white, maybe with one daylight thrown in to even out the light to a more natural spectrum.
Nutes can be given as soon as the cotyldon leaves fall off or shrivel up, i start a regime of diluted biobizz grow nutes at end of 2nd wk...
A few days after they show sex, back the grow nutes off to around 1/8th recommended dosage,and start adding small amounts of bloom booster and molasses...gradually building it upto around 1/2 recommended dose...Cut out Nute for the last 10 days, you can still give a light feed of molasses and theyll be happy enough.
Lowryders dont like a lot of nutes as a rule...
so take it easy with your nutes if youre new at this,as you can still give a good feed with the molasses..I use 1.5 tsp of molasses to a litre of mineral water.
No need to change light schedule, theyll grow real well with 18/6 as soon as they poke outta the soil..
Mine all look like this...
I got around 7-10 days flowering left on these..
Pic attached is a good indication of my average yield with these too, theyre great for continuous harvest setups..

yup i just leave em.. they reqire no seperate light schedule, so i leave em in the same room as my keralas,biggie smalls, and ecsd while i'm vegging those.
being as LR's go from seed to flower and skip the veg phase, 12/12 from seed doesnt allow enough light each day for decent growth,possibly restricts LR2 as they already have a short lifespan...
i know plenty of guys who grow them 24/0.. but i prefer to give the grow area time to cool off, and allow them tchill in the darkness...remember we're trying to simulate nature here, and 18/6 is close to the natural light schedule these things need.

i have a girl that is about 8 inches, it's been 29 days..... IT"S A BUSH! it hase 8 branches that are all up to the main cola thats forming, this one is gunna be HUGE. she has a 150 watt hps 6 inches above her with two blue 30watt cfls and two 43 watt cfls.
i can say for a fact that my lowryder2's love the 6 hours of dark, maybe it's just cuz i can't look at em, but they seem to add more at night than during the day.

yup i hear DrZ... they do like the 6 hrs off.
That main cola on my pic is prolly the same width as a toilet paper tube, around 7" in length,its dense and even this late into the grow, still gets bigger.
i dont think i could ever 'just' grow LR2 exclusively, i'd miss my other strains too much...But i am looking forward to pollinating my ecsd and ingemar punch with the LR pollen..see if we can make some potent short strains, the auto trait would be nice, but havent got the time or patience to cross n back cross to get the trait anywhere close to 100%, i'll be happy with whatever freak offspring they throwout.

Good info frosty, yeah i wasnt sure if 12/12 would speed up the flowering on the lr or what. I think im going to grab some of these for my next grow, but i think im going to try the autoflowering whiterussian, sounds awfully sweet. Plus my cab can only b 1'X1'X3' so its about all i have room for. How do you think one of these would respond to an 150 watt hps with two 26 watt daylight cfls? And what did you use for your lr?cfl or hps? Thanks in advance.

thanks..i've heard you can go to 12/12 after the 3rd or 4th week, but i've done that once and they were tiny 12" plants with a good amount of bud for their size, but it was still a very small yield... its easier for me to just leave em in the room with the other plants, and they get the extra benefit of the 18/6 and grow to a decent size 16-18" average.
I'm gonna do some auto-ak or auto-WR when my biggie smalls are finished..
had a few problems recently so they'll be delayed for a while, but i got some lowlife seeds comin from dr C, theyre on order as he's outta stock at the minute.
They should be all good with 150 hps + the CFLs in that area, make sure its got good ventilation though bro..that might get kinda hot.

I'm gonna do some auto-ak or auto-WR when my biggie smalls are finished..

i will confirm 24 hours a day will stunt their growth, i had 6 in a dwc system under a 400 w im on day 30 my tallest is SUPER BUSHY and its 4 / 5 inches tall they are all really dwarves and i could deal with them being bigger. i nute burned them early, DO NOT GIVE THESE PLANTS MORE THAN 2 ML per gallon of nutes before they get big...keep the ph right, they are ph sensitive. but other than that man they are a very bushy grow with a very very very very satisfying smell, i love rubbing the leaves and smelling them. LOVE IT , its not like weed its like fruit. im gonna let mine probably go about 13 weeks because of the stunt although!
