dude i just transplanted 2 nights ago from FFOF to MG organic and the plant is acting like its alive and awake now...almost thanking me haha
A test in progress.... Miracle Grow soil vs. Fox Farms soil. Is MG really that bad?

LOL... I love dirt, but it is becoming a hassle, expecially with transplanting and shit. I'm looking forward to water gardening for a change. My current grows will finish in soil as I don't feel like flushing roots clean and potting in hydroton. My next grow will be hydro, following Scottyballs technique. He gets nearly a pound per plant from a waterfarm using a scrog.DIRT TRAITOR!!! Yea, I'm thinking about trying a hydro setup...not for this next grow, but the one after that...

I was looking at scottyballs' water farm last night and it seems like a great method. Especially since waterfarms are only 70 bucks.
Hey bro just came across your thread and was wondering the same exact thing, because I have a pineapple kush plant and I'm using miracle grow for the first time, I was just wondering if miracle grow potting soil would need any more nutrients than it already has in the soil because it says it will feed them up to 6 months & their doing fine, but I just wanted to get some substancial advice on what to do...

Try Pyrethrum Bombs for your trips... They work great, organic and Usable during flowering!

Use only the Foggers!!! They cannot be found at Home Depot or Lowes.. This is a Hydro store or internet item only but WORK great!!! Ignore the commercial only and leave the door open if you are in a small space... These things work GREAT for getting rid of pests..

^Yeah man, hydro seems to be the way to go, when looking for the 'next level', so to speak. I've been thking about switching, myself, but not quite yet. I'd like to get a couple more soil grows under my belt, then switch over. The way I look at it, it's inevitable, because I'm always looking for "bigger, better, faster...", in which, hydro will come into play, eventually. One thing at a time, though, so I must remain patient. Sure does look tempting, though.lol 
Also, I'm going to start training those plants soon, maybe today, so I hope tyhat doesn't disturb some of the fans of this tread. Tough crap, I gotta make some money, asap.lol
Seriously though, those things are going to be switched to 12/12 within the next 10 days, or so, so I better get started on the training, asap. 10 days, is going to be cutting it close. 
(I grow perpetual, and am getting a gap in my bloom room. Can't have that now, can we?lol)

im subbed cant wait to see the comparison with some buds, i used MG organic twice before and this time switched to moisture control as the organic is too chunky but i havnt had a problem with MG soil

Well, although I plan to finish these out, for sure, the actual test, is for all-out veg performance. The only way to determine soil fertility, is to rate them, before any ferts have been added. Once they've been fed, it effects the accuracy of the test, IMO. Once I start feeding them, they should both perform the same, basically, because if one or the other show's deficiencies, I'm going to correct them. I can't risk problems, losing some of my yield, just for the sake of testing. My main goal of this test, os to put to rest, the "MG burns your plants", "MG is garbage", etc....myths. All those problems come during veg, when new guys feed, or overwater their plants, then blame it on the soil. Not always, but that's usually the case. I'm trying to show that MG works just fine, if used properly.

Mg will not burn your plants if you do not feed nutes... I took 2 cuttings 3 months (in Mg)ago and only gave one plain water not even ph adjusted, and the other reg feed, and now the one with only water is still green and healthy.....go figure? It was a test too and i see that as long as a plant gets water it will thrive, if not it would have shown def or something??? The only difference now is one is twice the size....the one i fed! they are 6weeks old in the pics this is an older pic as they look different now but as you can see they both look healthy but one is smaller the one with just plain water!!! I think the problem is to many people do not know how to read their plants and just want to superdose them with nutes, when if you are using Mg there is nutes in the soil so there is no need to feed until they show a sign!!! Well.... 12 weeks and still not feeding her??? still no sign, or dif.

I won't lie; when I used mg nutes for bloomin plants in my F&D flowering room even my old lady(someone who was raised in a mennenite colective and don't smoke pot) thought I was nuts. If used properly mg products can be made to work well with pot. I got nice crystals on my buds with it. Maybe if you cut the mg with the ff you might get a good mix. Or even find a soil(or something) with no added nutients to cut in with the mg, to weaken the nutes. I have to cut waaaay back when using mg fertilizer. I've always gotten larger lower branches when growing in dirt than I've seen in the pics. I may have missed a pic or two.

yeah man, i cut it into a 1/4 the first time and a half the 2nd time...only given nutes twice so far but this last time i saw a TINY bit of nute burn on one of them.. im going to wait about 3 weeks to start giving nutes to the newly transplanted one, maybe a small dose of bloom but i dont know yet, ive heard that MG organic soil is hot and i dont want to add to it...but the girl loves her new home so well see what happens
