PC Grow - Questions on Pot Size / LST

My current setup is in the process of being built, will have fans, head reducing layering, 4 bulb sockets and a decent amount of room. I'll be doing LST to get a nice bushy grow going, but my main questions are:

What are the smallest size pots I can get away with? I've seen people use 1 gallon, soda cans, and 2 liter bottles and pull of an ounce or more. I'm aspiring to have at least 4 plants going in there.

What is the recommended veg time due to the space / potting IF that so happens to be the issue?

I'll be sure to upload a pic of my rig when its complete. The image attached contains the dimensions.

About the pots, the smaller posts I would use are 1 to 1.5L. Wouldn't use anything smaller than that. I would say is like the lights, the bigger the better

Good to know, so this tells me coke cans are too small but 2 liters should be viable. With the dimensions in the pic above, how many do you think I'll be able to fit in the pc?

The case seems to be quite big so I'd say you could fit 3 pots in there, mine is smaller and I hope I can grow two plants without a problem The pots I'm using right now take around 15cm (6 inch) each.

i would do 12/12 from seed or vegg a week and i would use and fit as many solo cups in there as i could sog of wave of green lol

Interesting idea, I could probably fit around 15 in there, but the yield per plant would probably be 3 - 6gs, I think I'd yield more vegging 3 plants 6 - 8 weeks, doing LST and hopefully pulling off a zip or so per plant, which adds up to more. Does mah math sound right?

ALSO Whats the benefit from 12/12 from seed?

I had a quick look to the link and they definitely look really good, but I'd say the guy has got way more space and a hell of watts in there hehe

BTW, one of the advantages of going 12/12 from seed is that you can grow perpetual.

and you harvest a lil bit faster....................the down side is that your plants are smaller..........it depends on your lighting i think as well 12/12 with a hps light will probably look way diff than 12/12 with cfls

Yeah, I'm gonna stick to 24/0 then 12/12 at 7 weeks in. Does 4 x 6500k lumen for veg and 4 x 2700 for flower sound right?

hey Getbl4zed!! not sure of your growing back ground. but did you know a plant will double its size after you change to 12/12 and flower? if you veg in that pc case for 7 weeks, then 2 weeks post veg/pre-flower, then flower another 6-9 weeks, the fans in your PC case will stop blowing because of the buds growing out of them

you have a nice size case, dont get me wrong. but you may want to shorten the veg time a little. maybe 2-3 weeks, with 2 plants. if you do go as big as you stated above, try to prepare by having an alternate location to help flower them out. they can get big.

the lighting will be good, just do half and half spectrum throughout the gro. or if you can add a 5th bulb, do 3 6500/2 2700 for veg, and 2 6500/3 2700 for flower.

Good point about the plant doubling - however how much of that do I take into consideration because I'll be doing lst? I'm under the impression I can do 3 -5 weeks easy and have 3 or 4 plants LST'd up, am I overshooting it?

for the bulbs, you add the actual wattage, not the replacement wattage.

if you have a couple of grows under your belt you may be able to pull that number of plants with that veg time. but they may surprise you and out grow your LST. if it is your first pc grow, i wouldnt over do it and set your self up for a bad ending. a zip is a lot of bud in a PC case.

I will be using 4 x 23w soft white and 4 x 23 warm, 92w cfl total. I'm aiming for 4 weeks veg while watching LST closely. Also, assuming one of my plants turns male - is it possible to only put the pollen / spores on a single female, or will it effect the whole grow room?

you can apply to a single bud without it greatly affecting everything else. but in a tight pc case it is hard to say what will happen if you let that pollen loose.

would constructing a sort of dome, say putting a 2 liter bottle over a party cup thats been pollinated, seem like an ok idea?

it will create too much humidity for a flowering plant and you will get mold issues. i think i have heard of people tieing a paper bag over the bud they pollinate. but please research this and verify because i am not 100% sure on it preventing full pollination.

Thanks, someone else recommended that I pollinate one branch and wrap it with saran wrap and I'll get a shit ton seeds in a controlled area. The last thing I'm concerned with is where to put my clones - I'd imagine that 24/0 or 12/12 off the bat might be too much for them?
