Veg Growth CFL question

I am running a 300w CFl at the moment that I purchased from Home Depot. its 2700k.

Am I basically wasting time using a non-daylight spectrum CFL? or will the large 300w CFL get the job done?

Thank you

I'm not an expert, but I say better safe than sorry. Go buy 2 32 watt 6400ish($4) lights and get them on your plants. Buy cheap light sockets on plugins and their under $5 a pop as well. The truth is they will probably grow in red(2700,) just not as well as if you included some 6400 lights. I wouldn't take your big red one out, because lowering your wattage is never the right answer imo. just add a few little blues and switch them to red when ya start budding.

i beg to differ....2700 k is not enouhg lite...get into the 6500 k....their great for veg...summer time light is strong ,not weak...2700 is great for bloom....dont be scared...its not a 400 w hps...happy sailing

Just saying but I would put the 300W in there with 2-4 6500k 23W bulbs and put the 300w above the 23W so in order for the 300w to reach the plant it first has to go through the 6500k bulbs to reach the plant so it would rise the 300w bulbs spectrum but you are blocking it out by the 23w bulbs but hey its all your choice

Damn I was out of internet for a while. Thanks for the help. I have 4 100w 2700k for the blue spectrum and the 300w cfl is still in there to provide those extra lumens. Once I switch to flowering I will be adding 2 more 300w CFLs.

There 68 true watt cfls btw :) 300 watt equivalent.. So look at it like a 68 watt bulb and make sure you keep them close if you want nice buds! Its better to mix up the spectrum with cfl's when it comes to flowering too, good luck..
