3 weeks into flower and have a bit of a stretching issue with one, not so much an issue, but the lower buds arent getting enough light so i'd rather see about taking them out. There is few pistils coming out from the lower, I was wondering if i can cut them off and clone them-and put back into veg? I'd rather the light source focus energy on the bigger buds up top anyway. I'm not 100% im gonna go that route if it is possible, but I figured I'd get some info from what you guys think, all reply's appreciated! :leaf:

I've never clonned so idk when its ok to take cuttings.
But i do know for a fact that if you can take a cutting, you can put it into vegg right away. clone would be kinda small but yeah lol
your mother plant(which happens to be your plant for buds) would take the energy needed to produce the bud,
and would heal itself from where you took the cutting.

So i would just leave it alone, try moving some of the bigger leaves out of the way so the buds can get light

I have heard that you can, but its really hard to convert back to veg without turning it to an hermie. I have also heard its not a good idea to cut off anything during flowering. You should have cut them off before switching to get a bigger top side.

I agree, leave it alone now as it's in flowering. Could you try to get the light close to the plants perhaps? or add a couple CFL's around the sides? I'm sure you can think of loads of ideas to help the bottom growth.

you're gonna end up doing a partial harvest, harvest the top buds (that got enough light), then the lower buds will have more access to light, prolly good for an other week +

i could not disagree with these guys more. I always trim my plants when there in flowering stage but only the first two weeks.

i trim the first foot or so completely off because even wit a hps its still not penetrating the canopy enough to grow good buds all u end up with is little popcorn buds witch are a bitch to harvest and trim and it just takes away from the top buds in my opinion. check out my grow in my signature and you will see what i mean.

and yes the plant will have to heal but it will not hurt it that bad just dont go crazy and butcher the thing in one day, do a little at a time so you dont shock the plantIMG_2147.jpgIMG_2146.jpg

You can go ahead and pull a few clones if you are only 3 weeks into flowering. I have done this myself. It just takes some extra time in the clones to get rooted. Good luck!

Why do you wait to flower to cut?

because as soon as i transplant from 4" pots to 5 gallon pots i set out to flower(there about a foot tall) then they grow for a week or so into flowering and im constantly trimming them to get them the shape i want and what you get is what you see in my grow.

Well I just think there wasting energy on healing themselves when they could be using it towards growing for more bud. To each their on.
