BACKGROUND

This is ebb and flow with General Hydro Flora Nutes

This is day 1 or week 2 since clones were transplanted into rock wool and nutes began.

First Reservoir

15 gallons Micro: 37.5mL Gro: 37.5mL Bloom: 37.5mL

Second Reservoir (Current)

15 Gallons Micro: 37.5mL Gro: 75mL Bloom: 37.5mL


So my concern is the yellow bases of the new leaves. Shown are the 3 that show the yellowing the most, and 3 that do not show the yellowing. Also, with the plants that are yellowing I am noticing that some leaves look wrongly developed, and have the yellowing as well. Pictures are shown, thank you for your time.

I have been thinking that this is just the way they develop? These are after all the newest leaves on the plant, coming from the highest point... I am sure by tomorrow the will look different, but I am trying to gather opinions. Thanks for your input.

t5's? do high output bulbs run hot? if they run like regular flouros put them closer, almost touching.

The tray of clones I got was labeled HOG, not sure of the stain though. Its a complicated story how I got the plants and its not relevant. However, I have never seen light related stress on plants grown under this light with little to no gap between plant and light. I am not sure if this is just going to be how they grow for a little while as thewinghunter's post #2 says his plants act. It maybe too early to come to conclusions about what is going on, I don't think they are in danger, but we will see over the next few days... Keep your eyes on this post as I will put some pics in over the next few days. Thanks all. Please continue to post!

That looks like a nutrient deficiency... In my opinion its a Zinc deficiency. Have you tested your PH recently??

If i had to guess I'd say you're PH is too high and is locking out nutrients.

Do a foliar feeding for the quick fix but make sure to keep your PH in check.

I love the set up. It is definately a deficiency problem I agree with Iron and can be fixed quick with a foliar spray like Spray and Grow zinc/iron foliar spray . I have a couple guides that will definately help you in my journals on my page. I've ripped them from other post and threads and they have helped alot.

chlorisis in the leaves starting from the base of the mature fan leaves is your dead giveaway:

Sulfur Deficiency

Problem: A sulfur deficiency will manifest itself as all-over chlorosis (yellowing of leaves) starting with the oldest leaves and may look like a nitrogen deficiency at first. The parts that are underneath the leaves may take on a distinctive pinkish red or orange color. The buds on a flowering plant may start dying off. Unlike other deficiencies that cause chlorosis, a sulfur deficiency will start at the back of the leaf and move it's way forward as opposed to started at the tips. Leaves become stiff and brittle and will eventually fall off.

Boron Deficiency

Problem: Plant leaves and roots show abnormal and slowed growth. The first signs of a boron deficiency is abnormal or thick growth tips. New leaves may display chlorosis (yellowing of leaves). Stems may become rough or hollow. The plant may look like it has a calcium deficiency because boron is needed for the plant to properly use calcium. New growth is affected the most, and may look like it's been burnt or scorched.

Not sure which to bet on.

View attachment 1234950View attachment 1234949at least they dont look like my new plants ... i dont even know y they like this...View attachment 1234948this started after i changed my bulbs from 19w=to 75w cfl 5000k to 27w=100w 5000k cfls and at the same time they got poted from outside soil to scotts potting soil i thought the cfls were burning the leafs so i moved them from 3 inches to like 6 inches away also thought it might be nutrient burn so i slowed the watering ... now im thinking it was just a stress shock from the move but im still not sure what it is
