Mixed opinions on curing/manicuring here...

After going through the threads here on curing, I see people have different ways of curing. I'll be there once my new-hung buds are dry enough to jar.

When I put the buds in the jar, should I leave them on a stem, or totally cut the buds off the stems? I'd think the curing could potentially go smoother if there were stems with moisture in them to keep the process slow. Opinions?

When I was trimming my branches, I saw the leaf material was really thick inside the buds, so I just cut them down to where the bud is. Should I manicure when jarring, or wait until after the cure?

Finish trimming them B4 you put them in the jars.
Most of the time I trim them all the way and then I hang to dry...but sometimes I just remove the fan leaves and other big leaves, then finish after they are dry...it depends on the plant.
And cut down to nuggets for jarring, they will get a more even cure that way.

Thanks. And aside from guesswork, is there a solid way to know when you can stop burping jars and leave them sealed for months?

i personally just wait til the grass scent stops coming back, but before the moisture stops returning. too moist/smelly and air it out more. once i open it and there is very little to no grassy smell, and the buds havnt gotten moist again, i extend the burping from the once a day to once eveyr 2-3 days, then examine again. repeat and modify as necessary.
