Oh boy, big update coming.
So Roz obviously had shitty draining, I've decided that that's gotta be the cause of the curled leaves on an otherwise healthy looking plant. So I got up with the girls this morning and carefully cut large square drain holes around the bottom sides of her container. That should do the trick, I'm eager to see.
Interesting thing: I was worried that she wouldn't like the square pot but the roots made their way around that thing, I might've ginsu'd a root or two all the way around the bottom edges of the pot--even the end furthest from the plant.
I also gave Roz a little bit of Liquid Karma as it's said to promote growth and it seemed to work so I might give a little bit of that to Newie to see how she likes it.
Anyhow, picture time:
First few pics are of the new setup, 10x26W 2700K CFLs for a total of 260 actual watts. I still have 2 blue bulbs (had 3 but I accidentally broke one--woops!) but I'm gonna save those for the veg box cause I should have a clone coming in really soon. I know I've been saying that for a while but I mean it!
Next few pics are of Newie and Roz inside of the box. Jesus just looking that the pictures hurt my eyes. I really need to start wearing sunglasses when I go in there. Oh and Newie has a few burn marks because the shady ducttape job I did of holding the lights up before failed me and the bulbs were literally resting on top of Newie. Thankfully I felt like checking them early and not much damage was done.
Then some closeups of both the girls. I redid some of the LST ties this morning--it's easily my favorite top-of-the-morning activity. Cup of coffee and some training.
All of the new shoots in the previous pictures are going to be budsites. I tried to get a closeup. The yellow tie towards the right of the pot is where Newies stem starts by the way, so you can track her progress around the pot. She's just about halfway to the finish line!
Roz is working her way there. With this new setup she'll fill up that square box in no time, I'm sure.
Oh before I forget, when I originally set this up, the temps were around 90+ degrees. I went and got some milk crates, stacked them up and the increased airflow lowered the temps in the box about 9 degrees. So if anyone's having temp problems in a small grow, with the books and boxes and shit we use to raise and lower our plants, try to find some that aren't solid so air can pass through them.
Anyhow, I still need a stronger exhaust fan and I need to build a light trap for the second intake as well as the exhaust.
I'll probably do that tonight.
So that's the end of my massive update! Feel free to leave any feedback or criticism.
