Thanks a lot guys! Just checked in there again before the lights went off. There are more hairs on the single lady and I'm not expert but I think a couple more are going to be females as well. Tonight I'm going to do a thorough looksee and look for any males that might have shown on side branches. Plus I'm going to be giving a low dosage of nutes tonight with their watering.

Got a couple more confirmed females. So awesome! I'm thinking about chopping down one of the others that hasn't shown yet. It just extremely stretched with very far apart node spacing. Don't know if it was maybe pheno or bad light placement. All the others have been pretty tight though... We'll see how the room is when the tent gets here. If it isn't taking up too much space I may keep it.

I agree, it would only take some of the precious light away from the others. My situation is where I only want room for two. So I'll have to let two go eventually. Fortunately I am already losing one at the sprout stage and another one never sprouted so I am already down to two and they're not even a week old. I don't think I am good at this part.

Hey Boonierat, thanks for your comments on my journal. Just caught up with yours -- Subbed!

Congrats on your ladies, they're looking great. Looking forward to see how they turn out. I'm about a week from chopping my first one.

Alright. Soon as I opened up the door I noticed there was a new, more pungent aroma. Oh my, what could this be? It's a fucking hair already! I have successfully grown my first girl! :bigjoint: Now lets see if I'll be able to harvest her! Happy times!

It is only....Day 3 of flowering I believe. I didn't really expect to see sex that fast.

Congrats bro! On my first grow I did six and 1 died due to a virus or something I ended with 3 females and a clone from the oldest mother and 2 males. I killed the males and had excellent seedless bud from the rest. Congrats again bro!

congrats on ur females! i just skimmed through ur thread thought id give u some advice...superthrive is not a nute...it is almost like a super formula for sick or rooting plants! i would not recommend using this more than twice..once is enough..it could do more harm then bad...and i was told to not use it during flower either..not to sure y but yea...ur deficiency is a cal/mag deficiency...in your next watering i would take a litre and mix about a half teaspoon of epsom salt to it...then take a teaspoon to half teaspoon of this mixture to your nute mix...also never mist during the lights on period the drops act like a magnifying glass creating burn spots...one thing that def. doesnt help u is the mg soil ive heard alot bad things and stay away from it...if u can find the organic potting soil mix from mg that doesnt have slow release nutes...but yea they look great! +rep and subd!

Well. Not as great of an update as I had planned, but still fairly cool. :D Next up is hps. I know, it's not CFL.... but the advantages I feel are fairly clear. A 250w HPS from HTG puts out 33,000 lumens, and is quite cheap. Just will be able to get more lumens to the plants far easier with this new setup.

Hell yeah. I just added 400W HPS to mine. I think vegging with CFLs to keep them short and then blasting them with some high intensity discharge shit should make them blow up in flowering...and stuff.

what concerns do you have on electricity drain and heat? if any?

Heat is actually already horrible right now. I was running low on money when I ordered the tent, so I didn't get any extra ventilation. I have temps shooting up to 95 right now with the tent closed up except for exhaust vents and one 4" fan. So I've been running lights with the flaps cracked open, keeping temps around 85 for now. I need to order the fan, but I have a question. Does anyone know if these duct booster fans can still pull enough air through a carbon filter to ventilate a cab?

As far as electricity drain, meh. I'm not worried about it too much. 400w is still less than the power supply I used to have on my desktop.

Booster fans are just that, they are used in long runs to keep the already moving air moving.

Get a vortex fan with min 200CFM.

That 6" 250CFM fan is like my three fans combined. That should help significantly with heat. No clue on carb filter. I plan on using a gel or some simple solution for smell. I found a post with a pretty simple solution for a small grow cab like mine.

You could also consider a cool humidifier from target as well. This will blow in some cool air and provide some humidity. You wll lose some humidity with the 250CFM fan.

here is what I purchased at Target

Target Humidifier $30.00

this act like a swamp cooler providing some nice fresh cool air. Mine sits outside my passive intake, but since since you have the tent, you could probably have it inside. even better I think.

I can't decide! 250w HPS vs. 400w HPS?! I keep thinking of the amount of light vs. the amount of heat for my small growing space. I'm leaning towards 400w HPS with a 4" vortex inline fan with my custom carbon filter.

I'll have an update soon. More hairs are popping out. They are looking beautiful. What makes the fan leaves claw up? Make the tips and edges curl under?

Not positive on this I know heat will cause the leaves to do that but it is usually upwards the leafs ends curl. Looking good though bro can't wait for this baby to finish. Maybe someone will chime in and have a better idea.

Not sure, but possibly over-watering could cause that? My plants recently experienced the effects of under-watering, which causes a completely different looking droop. So, over-watering is my guess, but don't take my word for it :)

Wow. The specs on my fan said that it was only 47db loud. That was actually what sold me on it. Unfortunately for me, that was an outright lie as it sounds like there's a small jet engine in my closet.. So now I have a fan that is unusable and a HPS light I can't turn on. Fucking sweet. No update other than that.

I laughed at this. Sorry to hear about the jet engine. If you dont mind me askin, how much did you pay for that fan? Is it true you get what you pay for?
