question about cloning

Hi, i want to make clones of my outdoor plants to keep around till next outdoor grow season.

I have my plants in a greenhouse. Can the clones live in there till next spring or will i need to have an indoor growing set up to keep them alive?

Will the clones revert back to vegetative growth without having to change light hours?

Any help is much appreciated.

If you clone outdoors and leave them outdoors they will flower when the mother does. When you clone them you need to put them indoors IMO, they are easier to monitor and keep track of. But you do realize that by next grow season your clones are going to be full grown plants..??

So you're certain that these outdoor clones will survive? So they will go back to vegetative growth automatically... even with the current sub 12 hour day. Is that correct?

They will go back to veg if you give them say 18 or more hours of light. You can take clones from a plant at any time. The deeper into flowering the plant is... the longer it will take to go back into veg in clone form. I take clones when I first see hairs so I know my clone is female and by the time it gets roots in 7 days, it is already revegging.

i dont quite understand what your asking...?
are you saying the plant your gonna clone off is flowering??
you cant clone off a flowering plant...
any plant no madder if its a clone or seed or what ever..if its outside right now it will flower.!

im not gonna argue but its very stressful on a plant to do this..it makes the plant weak and could possibly herm..!!!

Ya sorry to use the term incorrect... There is more of a chance of herm but I have never run into this. See how your results turn out and report back blitz.

but you got plenty of time till next outdoor.....
clone it then veg it and clone the clone and veg that then clone that one....
you will see how stable it is that way....if none of them give you problems you should be good to go..!

You can clone your outdoor plant, but to get it to vegetate its going to need the correct temps and light, so pretty much mandatory to bring it inside. You need at least 16 hours of light for the plant to be in vegetative state, you can then keep that plant as a mother and just cut it down to size every once in a while if it gets too big. Then you can use that mother palnt to make a whole bunch of clones for next spring planting.

If you just leave it in the greenhouse it will try to flower instead of rooting, then all hope is lost.

It will go back to veg with buds too, just takes a long time and grows awfully weird for a while.

It would be best to take your snips before it goes into bud. A mom needs to be at least a year old before it is good for a production mother. Use a number two powdered rooting agent for semi-hardwood and I would recommend rockwool to start your clones in.
