Bigger the pot bigger the plant/yield so I keep on hearing, When Dinafem recommend up to 20 litre pots for the Roadrunner.

Today, I am a lot happier then yesterday as all my new seeds 3x Green-o-matic AK's and 3x Supersonic Cristal Storms hadn’t cracked, that’s £40 in the bin I thought late last night, but as a last resort, I sat and scratched what looked like the husk of a coconut from one of the seeds, which exposed the darker shell underneath and put it back into the towel, to my delight this morning it had cracked! so today I've been sat scratching all the seeds. lol

My 400w Sunmaster bulb came yesterday and wow is it bright! kicking out some heat too, temp now at 80-87F

I use 7-11 liter containers.

The rule of thumb is 1 gallon per 12in. so I think a 7.5 liter container is perfect for any autoflower strain.

When I grow a non-autoflowering strain, I use a 5 gallon (18.9L) container and LST.

That's just me though.

Think it could also be dependant on wheather the strain was a Sativa or Indica hybrid too

So that converts to about 2 gallon pots right? Shit man I'm using about half that. Oh well. Not really sure if I should transplant again on consecutive days, that may be a bit to much stress for a young sprout and I've read that these AF prefer to stay in one pot. I guess I'll roll with it for now and look to move up to a bigger pot in a week or so. You live and you learn right?

2 of my white widow's died, and 1 didn't sprout. So that leaves me with 2 left, they looking healthy though.

@ hitman, Sometimes we have to find out for our self’s its the best way. I found out by putting the sprouted seeds into small cup sized peat pots the best way, without stressing them out, they keep them self’s and the soil moist if you put them in a tray of water, about an inch deep no more, as soon as you see one of the roots come through the side of the pot, put it straight into it final pot, the peat pot will then slowly break down allowing roots to past through it, this way the plant can also develop a root ball allowing the plant to stiffen up quicker.

easy ryders in germ! i know its too late to enter but still following! great thread! doing paper towel method, i have never had a problem with this method so staying with the tried and true for me..germ right to the pot they will stay in forever..fox farms ocean soil with a 400 mh/hps..starting with the mh during veg but prolly quickly gonna switch over to the hps..im thinking week 2 but will hav

Alrighty well i got all my 10 beans germmed in rockwool and about 6 outta 10 sprouted and in soil
but i bought non feminized autos so i could get some more seeds, but this is the one im hoping is a female
it was the first to pop and in the biggest container
if it dosent turn out female i got anther to replace it, they were all planted at the same time and ill use this one as
the pollen if it turns out male.(but it wont )

I'm using a 1 1/2 gal. waste paper basket from Wally World. Got 10 @ $1.00 ea. on school shopping sale.
Ordered 2 gal. bags from HTG, but when I got them they only held (maybe) 5 qts. HTG said, "industry standard" (WTF?) offered exchange, but..
Anyways, basket pots are 8" dia. top, 6" bot, and 10" tall. (gonna have to do - space)
Looking a bit stunted to me. was in the front corner but that's where it's coolest by the intake. I don't think it like the 70-73 deg. that came in on the soil. Moved it and should get soil temps up to high 70's / low 80's fairly quick.
These autos are all new to me. I was surprised at the amount of roots for such a small plant!!! I understand now why they say start in finish pot right off. The root are long and very thin. Probably 5 times the heigth of the plant already and the size of hairs. (Note to self; easily damaged in transplanting)
I've added a touch of bone meal & worm casings down deeper.

Well, that's about it for now. At least it's not got bugs! (LOL)

alright, here is my mataro blue auto, paloma. she is ten days old using: 3gal pot. fox farm ocean forest soil cut with 1/3 per light and two ounces of coconut shelling. beneficial fungi and microbes are blended in the soil as well.

the space is small. two fans.

lights

150w hps
2x 42w 65k cfl
2x 100w 55k cfl
4x 26w 55k
2x 26w 27k

distilled water with gh ca/mg added to every watering
no nutrients until one more week. i will then slowly add big bloom in to the regime.
after three weeks, i will start adding: molasses, grow big,(then later) tiger bloom, an nirvana, an overdrive, cha ching, earth juice bloom, ej micro blast


EDIT: i started her on 24/0. then, on day 21 it will go to 20/4 then a bit later, 18/6...

She is sitting in a 7L pot.

Gave her some 4-4-4 nute solution mixed in store bought "spring water" yesterday. Soil feeding this one.

She is under a solo 85w 6400k veg light.

Fan blowing on her to try to keep temperatures mellow around her.

Hmmmm, interesting. I assumed a MH would be the call until pre(?)-flower?
Should I be using sodium?
