I'd jus go to wal-mart , they got them white cabinets like 4 foot tall , like 2 foot wide , with 2 swinging doors in the front, I believe they are like 40-50$ ... im sure you could make a decent grow box out of that , already painted white .. just cut some nice holes for exhaust fans and intake , rig up something to hang the light on. Jus fix it up to your preference bro

get a roll of panda film and some 2x2's. don't skip on your tent construction, but the white storage closets would work. just make sure it can hold everything you're gonna stuff in it, and hold it well. a 15lb light dropping on your plants will crush your goals, literally. i wouldn't worry about odors until you get close to flowering. some stink like hell, some aren't bad at all, just depends on your nose and the strain.

fem'd seeds are worth the money if you only want females, usually. you'll have about a 75% (or higher) chance of having a female plant. this means to keep the strain you'll be cloning, or re-vegging at some point. reg seeds will allow you to breed, and are generally cheaper. the trade off is the chance of a male sprouting.
autoflowers are usually good to get started on but the yield is small. with an hps you'll end up with a better number than with cfl's with auto's also, so you may be able to pull an oz a plant if you feed it right. you can usually squeeze an auto out in 2 months in a 1 ga. pot and come close to 28g's. what i would do is order some reg. auto's or fem'd if you want (i'd try and breed em but that's just me) and most places send freebies of a non auto. with that seed, you'll start cloning and gaining more experience while you are harvesting the auto's you planted. this way after 2 months of vegging your non auto, you'll be smoking the rest. when the non auto is ready to start flowering, you'd be able to take clones and start a small perpetual going.

hey there, i am also new to the scene(of cultivation that is) I currently am at the end of the 3rd week of flowering and have 4 unkown strain bagseeds and one masterkush clone from an associate,all are under twin 400w hid MH fixtures that i picked up dirt cheap and hung from a custom built adjustable frame. i originally started them all (bag seeds-
in 1 inch hydroton cubes under 1 30w flouro.at about 1.5 inches from light,for 12 days then into 6 inch net baskets mounted in to two rubbermaidtotes,about 7"deep,14'wide,and 22" long. all sits on a custom built top above a 4'x4.5' poly tub about 14" deep it will hold aprox.100gal. but i have only about 60 gal in use.I am running a high volume res.ebb and flow system on 15 and 15 minute cycles. the tubs fill to 6" then drain via an overflow back to the main resivoir.then the tub slowly drains via 1/8" drain hole over about 12 minutes leaving 3 minutes for oxygen to hit roots and then its full again for fifteen minutes and so on.I am running Hollands secret nutes three part micro,grow,and bloom.also added some 10-52-10 for flowering nutes are at about 1080ppm now.and to be quite honest cant beleive the results! aside from removing three males and two stray flower clusters from a hermie(suspected victim of a light leak.)my plants are 37", 26", and two at 19" and the clone at a height of 18".i do however have one question for those who have been around... my res is 60 gal on a concrete floor in central albert in a basement "coldroom" maintianing an average res. temp of 23.5 deg with minimal light leaks and i have never changed the water just add 20litres every second day or so.my ph runs about 5.8 to 6 very consistantly, i add only r/o water will i and or should i be concerened about any scum,mold,algae and do i need to change my res.like i say maybe 40 more days to go.??

Fem'd seeds are way more than 75 percent, much closer to 100 percent if you get 'em from a reputable source (there are plenty of them). Well worth the 10 bucks or so you'll pay a piece for them. You are damned near guaranteed of getting a female with them and you save a lot of time, money and heartache not wondering if your blowing your time and effort raising a male. White Widow, and or Northern Lights are easy to grow and you will probably get the best bang for your buck outta one of them or a cross between the two. Get the kit you saw online and some good fem'd seeds and you'll be growing like a rock star. I wouldn't recommend trying to grow just one plant as lots of shit can happen and you'll want a backup or an "experiment" plant. I recommend going with three.
