Theres many many things to consider, buy and take care of when growing indoors. Growing pot is a part time job. Ill give you a quick overview of a step up I just helped my best friend step up.
1)400w HPS/MH Conversion bulb system (www.htgsupply.com $164.99)
2) Grow box covered in mylar 4'x4'x7'
3) Heavy duty timers, power strips, and extension cords
4) Fans for inside the box & exhuast fan to chimney to take out smell, heat, humidity
5) Digital temp/humidity gauge
6) Nutes there are so many out there. I use the full FoxFarm line up but Advanced nutrients work very well also
7)Ph Up & Down to adjust water
8) Digital PH meter or liquid test kit to check waters ph
9) If using soil I wouldnt use pots smaller that 3-5 gallons
10) Neem oil and insecticidal soap
This is just a few things that are basics when growing indoors. Ive been doing it for around 5 years now and I still only have and know about 1/3 of whats out there. Hopefully this helps you alittle
