Hot weather and the girls are loving it!

The garden is looking great! The high temps in California's Sierra foothills (all of Ca) are running between 90 and 100 degrees, and a couple of days above 100 degrees this week. Above average temps the past 4 days, and everyday in the 10 day weather forecast has well above average temps with low humidity.... big time fire danger here, but my girls sure love it!.
Feeling for the North-East Coast growers fighting bud rot and mold with lots of rain. Keep up the fight and good luck to you.

san diego east county 107 degrees by noon . time to hook the kiddie pool to a pond pump and save my ladies who arnt happy . there downing 1/4 gal per hour each + evaporation . sigh

DAMN, 107 by noon, I heard downtown L.A. was 111 by noon too. The temperature here is 103 as I type this at the 1900ft in elevation at 1:30p.m..
My garden was getting watered/fed every 3rd day, now every other day due to the hot weather. I',m in the ground with semi raised beds, all my girls, 10, are in a 10 x 15 foot area. So the whole area stays moist when needed.
Good luck to all fighting the heat too, I have water right at my garden, so no worries for me, but those guys carrying there water in, OUCH! Keep up the fight all!

Yeh it has been scorching in Southern CA the past 3-4 days. First time really dealing with major heat this year. Came home to a really thirsty garden yesterday.

So keeping them happy through the heat just requires a lot of water? Do you ever water extra to keep the ground and roots cool? I put them in the shade temporarily, any advice would be great thanks!

If in pots I would wrap the pots in a white towel or sheet. Keeping the sun off the pot as much as possible will help with heat related issues.
