alright im having a dilema...
i want to your your advice (kagenical + stonegrove) but i dont know where to put it. my current silo is tiny, and fits nicely on one of my shelves behind some books. does anyone have any suggestions on how to conceal a 7 or 8 inch silo that is about 20 inches high? im willing to make alterations to walls, but im sure that there is an easier way...

a cupboard? or extend it so it loosk lik eit leads into the wall.
u know anything about horizontal growing? lol i gutted out a pc shell today and cleand it, then realised i had tolay it flat to fit it where i wanted to lol. was thinking of groing it horizontal.

by the way, i figured out a solution to my problem. im working on a veg box that will fit behind my bed. its not perfect but its the best i could think of. ill start on it tonight and will keep you guys updated.
the silo is running well. that cfl gets reallllllly hot tho. it melted the hot glue around the seal and i put the probe in the cool tube just to check the temp for fun: 145 degrees! the silo is at 77.2 right now. sprout looks good.
i took a break from my canvas today and lit one up and watched the sprout for an hour and a half, i actually watched it shed the seed casing...absolutely beautiful. two baby leaves now and microscopic leaf development in the crease between them. im so excited.

Thats a good temp!!!!! And i have been tryin to think of some mods that migh help and i think i got one. Im tryin to put it together on a blueprint. The shit is hard though
haha thanks. it was hard to get the temp down from 145-150 to 77 in an aluminium silo thats 1 foot tall haha. i used a glass pane from a picture frame to separate the silo from the bulb i vented the bulb chamber as well as i possibly could and i installed the fan in the seedling chamber and left an exhaust hole which the probe enters in from as well.
good news! i found two old pcs downstairs and im gunna harvest their fans so i wont have to drop 40 bucks for some new ones. ill have 3 all told that ill be rigging up tonight. all i have to do now is find some power sources that match
time to paint!!!

ok, i have news.
i have decided against any upgrades or changes to my grow.
the point of this was that it was to be a little side project and not to consume my free time. i will leave the silo as it is now:
1 26W=100W CFL
75-80 degrees
plant can grow no higher than 8 inches and no wider than 3 (hahah)
this is just for fun people. the sprout officially has its first two leaves and i just adjusted the timer for 12/12 conditions. if it works it works if not then its no big deal.
let me know what you think might happen...

If you flower her automatically (12/12 from seed) you could get a few grams of bud. Just do some harsh LST training.

....any of you guys know about wiring a PC fan to a mains power outlet? i just tried lol failed miserably, i think it was because the plug i used was too powerfull or not enough,but either way it popd and the fan went up in smoke lol. i think i need to have a fan that can withstand a current higher than the wire can emit thus preventing it from surgin? but im baked. HHEELLPP my seeds will be germinated in 1 day!!!
