starting new 8 plant dwc, 400 watts

im making an 8 plant dwc system and ive never done this before i used to be strictly soil. im using two 2 cubic feet rubbermade containers, i got the air pump tubes, splitters, airstones. i havent cut the holes yet till i buy the net pots tomarrow. expanded clay is hella expensive so i think im ginna use pearlite and vermiculite. i dont know what nutes im using yet either if anyone could reccommend some to me. i have a 400 watt hps and a 150 watt hps. i just want to know if im forgetting anything oh yeah im gonna scrog it to i have to cause theres only a max of two feet between the top of the res and the lights uhh heat may be an issue. so besides the space issue is there anything terribly wrong with my setup?

Use something round to trace the holes then cut with a jig saw or strong scissors will work if you make a starter hole with a knife..or a razor knife if all else fails. You will prob need more than 1 stone per tub too ..but your on the right track!

thank you i got the net pots i think the cheaper choice will be a 50/50 pearlite /vermiculite mix and i got some clones lined up im told theyre the strain that won the last cannabis cup. im going to buy this awesome battery powered siphon for doing the water changes.

Ah... Very cool.

I'm going to subscribe to this one for 3 reasons. It's a DIY, and I love that. 2, it's a SOG setup and I'm thinking of it next time because mine got out of freakin' control with growth and still growing. And third, are you speaking of SUPER LEMON HAZE ???!!!

That is what I want to grow next.

I think you can go straight perlight vermiculite stays moist for a long time...with the dro setup you are watering alot so you want it to "dry" in between feedings

can you really? thatd be hella sweet i have lots of pearlite. oh and yeah i knew it was lemon something. if that guy doesnt come through with those clones i know another guy thats starting up. he said hed give me some clones. my first grow was great i had a type of pink indica, we only had two plants but everyone loved that shit. theres this rasta guy at my work and he was like this shit reminds me of home mon, but hes weird, he once told me the moon is just flashlights reflecting off the atmosphere. but anyways my last grow dident turn out so good we got more weed from it but it tastes bad, it gets you high but like how my dad put it,its like dirty pussy, yeah you get your rocks off but its not gonna taste good. so this time around im mixing it up, i got an ok camera and ill keep you all posted

hate to spoil the party but that single air pump is no way big enough your gonna nead at least 4 ov them air stones per tub and a bigger pump and imo the 2ft gap is not high enough especialy if this ur 1st time at scrog ur gonna have problems with hight trust me
