Interested in a duel?

I posted this thread in this section because it is about growing Marijuana as a group event.

This post is to see if there is an interest in a growing duel!

I was thinking about getting some 1v1 duels together to advance our individual growing skill. Maybe we can get a few people dueling each other? I was thinking about getting 4-6 people “battling it out” in one thread.

This is all in the think tank stage, so nothing below is set in stone. Beginners are preferred...

However, if an intermediate or an advance grower wishes to participate, they must try a new technique for themselves and must state in the duel what technique you are doing differently. Hopefully we will get some advance growers trying some crazy stuff. :blsmoke:

If I get enough people (technically only need one other), I will start a thread titled, “AUTOFLOWER CAGE MATCH” Unique I know…

Start date will be determined when we get one or more people interested.

Here’s what I am thinking…

Rules:

  1. Indoor grows only.
  2. Runderalis strains only (any strain mix accepted that is an autoflower strain)
  3. One plant per person.

Other than the above 3 rules, I figure everything else is open to interpretation. Each person brings with them their “weapons” of choice (lights, grow medium, ect) and pits it against another person.

Anyone interested?

why those rules? why one plant only? and fuck ruderalis. indica is my favorite, I have one small plant going, till I clone it. and I'd pit my plant and room against anyone..
why not make it a sort of contest between grow rooms, separated into divisions by growspace size. and score on room efficiency, amount of plants, mmm how purty the plants are and maybe like harvest amounts. something along those lines..

Good points. I know you said you will have clones, but I want to go from seed to finish. This way people can germinate different ways...be a fun "debate" while we wait for the results. I would like to do one plant grows because I am trying to promote advance users helping beginners and I think that learning on one plant for a first grow, or trying something different is a good learning tool.

However, lets get another indica grower in here and pit you two against each other! That would be great if we had a multiple duels on different types of grows for all levels.

im down. i have an auto that im ready to start.
Thats cool. I have one more thing on its way, should be here tomorrow they say. I will update and you and I can duel? We can discuss when to start germinating so we start roughly at the same time.

would like to play but won't start anything new for at least a few weeks. But I'll be following along.

Sounds great!! I like the idea of using autos and use the same strain and only one plant, but also agree that a separation by growspace size would be interesting to see the differences between similar grow boxes/rooms.

ive still got a haze auto seed sitting here...but imo...these autos suck..they flower to fast and stay to small...i doubt ill even grow this one...but if by chance i do i might toss some info in here...got 4 other plants going...plus ive got some real strains sitting here i need to start

I changed the rule above to make it a little more clear in what I was thinking. It can be any autoflowering strain.

I was hoping to get a bunch of autoflowers going so we can compare different seedbanks, seeds and techniques.

So what do you have to do to win??? You´ve left that bit out.
Good timing...I have been thinking about some stuff...

Maybe a US$50.00 gift card for Attitude?

I was going to do something like that if we all did autoflower.

Sounds like a cool idea but I fall into the intermediate class so what can I do with an auto that is new and exciting? Nothing.

This is a great idea but the auto thing kills it. I fall in the intermediate class so what can I do exciting with an auto? Nothing. I love the idea though and if anyone is interested I have 7 different strains on hand and am starting a new grow in 3 weeks so I will do a duel. No autos though sorry. I have no interest in a 16" plant with a set lifespan.

I'm totally in... I haven't done a journal on here yet, mainly b/c i don't usually have a camera around when starting stuff... but I'm starting up a grow here in a couple weeks while my current babes flower, and i want to document that

I'd be down to go against any strain... grow blue mystic myself... and i agree it should be one prize plant, but it should be all strains... after all choosing a great strain is a skill in itself. here are some rough draft categories the growers could compete in: total dry weight, grams/watt, aesthetic appeal and efficiency (of time or light)... anything else to consider?

So I guess the fun of growing and sharing and getting to know more about the autoflowering strains is not enough ? It's a pity it always has to be about winning and loosing :( Really liked the idea of your first post when you talked about some advance people helping people with less experience.

On the contrary! You can try a different medium, different lights or light cycles, different brand of nutes, ect...

I like autos, beginners like autos. This is a good way for people like yourself to come in and contribute to the community by helping beginner growers like myself.

Don't worry...hopefully there will be some experienced growers that are down helping us "noobs" out. :)

I love helping beginners and I think autos are fine. The problem is there is not much you can do with them that will be too impressive IMO.

don't care for autos either, how big is your growspace what lights do you use? I will be fully going here soon, just waiting on enough new growth..

I run a 2x4 tent with a 2x3 scrog (usually) and I have/use a 400w HPS, a 6 bulb T5 and some 68 watt CFLs here and there.
