What if... they are all hermies!

Hi there!
Let's suppose I would have six beauties, running under a 400w hps, 6 weeks in veg, 1 & 1/2 in flowering now. They would all be bagseed and they would be starting to show their sex... at first, I'd see pistils in 2 of them... then one more... and another... today, the six of them would be showing pistils a bit all over their tops. A bit to the bottom, only some swollen calixes that, at least to me, wouldn't look like balls (yet maybe).

So... should I assume I would have had the lucky strike or should I assume they'd be all hermies? Is it true that a hermie would produce only hermie seeds?

What if... they'd be all hermies? Would it be possible to proceed and remove the male parts? Or would it be better to leave 'em like that? Kill 'em all and start all over again with better seeds?

Cheers!

PS: Will post some "virtual" pictures. My "virtual" camera has no battery.

I have had hermies from seeds from the same plant. I have had a hermie from a true female mother. Sometimes a nutrient mixup or diff could cause a hermie. Just because the mother plant was hermie wouldnt (in my opinion) make only hermie seeds. Maybe a higher male side.

Here some fictional pictures! They're a bit blurred but I just can't focus better than this!
These are only the fictional maybe-male-parts I would find. The female ones I would have no doubt.
Some would look like calixes, some other I don't even know what they look like (not balls, not calixes).
Any idea?

Those fictional plants look good to me. Their a little lanky but again, for just seeing a picture I cannot see anything I would worry about. One would watch for groups of things hanging that resemble a bunch of grapes, some call them balls. If that was discovered I would pull any plant with those,, those are pollen sacks.

My biggest fear is... what if the seeds came from a hermie? The weed was quite good so probably not from a hermie, right?

I reckon one of these plants had a bad time... was under-watered for a few days but then it recovered. This was in veg, not flowering.

As I have seen no clusters, I still hope this was a lot a luck... plus, some of them have pistils only, for now.

Guess I'll wait a bit more... I'll try to get better pics in a few days...

Thank you for your help!

Well if you have a hermie and polinate a true female with the hermie than you will mostly likely to get all female seeds

even if a hermie selfed itself, you can still have females from those seeds. the hermie trait is undesirable in breeding because the offspring carry a higher disposition to hermie traits form stress. although some strains will hermie and throw a few nanners in late flower no matter what. i have had a hermie self itself and all of the seeds from it turned female.

Could anyone really help me out with this? First I was afraid those were ball but they really don't look like balls at all. They look like new leaves coming from the place where flowers should be. Some of them, the upper ones, are starting to show pistils. I'll try to get some "fictional pictures" for you. Cheers!

Never had a hermie yet. It appears to be an affliction that is entirely limited to indoor growers.
I have read plenty of threads about outdoor growers with hermie issues. I won't dispute that you haven't had a hermie yet, but to say they are all confined to indoors grows is inaccurate at best . . .

To the OP- They looks like ladies to me, but if you do see any hermie flowers popping up, check out Dutch Master Reverse. I used it as a preventive measure on some stressed outdoor plants (no hermies luckily) but others have applied it to their plants after seeing flowers show up and they reported the death of the flowers within 48 hours. If you do get it, don't worry about getting DM Penetrator, phosphate-free dish liquid works just as well. Good luck.

Ok. First 2 pics show the thing I'm talking about. Pic number 3, shows something I just spotted right now... this one looks like a ball but when comparing to some others nearby that have pistils, I don't know... what should I do? I know the pics aren't that good but it was the best I could get. Cheers!

I see what you are talking about. Pistils are a great thing to see, but they look like balls to me. Being this early in flowering it is a pretty big concern, esp if you don't want seeds. If I were you and had an extra $18 I would go ahead and get the Reverse. Clones from this plant will still have a tendency to hermie, so this won't be a crop you will want to perpetuate, but instead of killing the bunch go ahead and put the DRM on there. Good luck!

I won't take clones from them as I'll be moving after this crop. All of the six plants are covered with pistils, specially their tops. On some lower branches this shit is starting to show:S I think I'll try to find the DRM. Thank you mate!

Ok, here I am again, still no clue on what to do.
Went to several places back here in the shithole where I live, including Grow Shops, and just couldn't find Dutch Master Reverse (at least now they know it exists and what it does so maybe next time...).
So... I decided to give it a few for days for me to decide. Today I came home ready to pinch the damn balls off when I find one of them with a pistil. :blsmoke:
Instead of clearing up this mess, it only got me even more confused.
The first two pictures show the pod-like structures I fear are male flowers, the 3rd shows the same stuff, different plant, including that one with the pistil.
As I've said before, I only find this stuff in the lower parts of the stem and in the middle (none at the top) of 2 or 3 branches.

Are these hermies? If so, predominantly female so... should I try to remove those balls or kill them? Or is it possible that the other "balls" aren't balls after all (I might be in denial:p but that pistil is real).

Hope to hear from you!
Thank you!
