Has anyone grown with an aerogarden from start to finish

I keep reading things in the areogarden forum, but it seems like everyone has to add lights to it or move the plants to soil and then get hps lights to finish. I just want to grow my plants with the aerogarden and liquid nutients.

yea, plenty of people have grown completely with the aerogarden, search aerogarden on youtube and get videos like this:

Cmikeb: A lot of us have. The only thing I've added to my five year old seven holes model A/G is an upgrade kit with a taller light stand/arm, with three high intensity CFL's, an aquarium air pump, a check valve, an air stone, a 'do it yourself' CO2 source using a soda bottle, water yeast and sugar, a figure eight cord and a remote timer. For what it was designed for, the A/G is a complete growing system but then again we aren't cultivating basil and oregano.

I arranged three inexpensive mirrors around my A/g; one behind and one on each side to to reflect the light back up and illuminate the lower portions of my plants. I get buds all the way down to the planting deck and I don't have wiring to extra lighting like my friends do that's a wireman's nightmare and looks like a snake pit.

I wouldn't recommend A/G's nutes for what we're growing. They're designed for seven vegging herbs and when you're growing M/J there's too much guess work involved. I would strongly recommend Technaflora's "Recipe for success." It has everything you need from germination to harvest and I've had no problems with their nutes. The sample kit has everything you need and it's good for a couple of crops before you have to start refilling individual bottles.

I can't explain why some of these people do what they do. They take a simple system and make it more complicated and then they wonder why they have problems. Before you get started I suggest you read everything you can get your hands on about the Aerogarden. Their manuals were available on line. I think Cervantes's book on the cultivation of M/J is indispensable. He'll answer a lot of questions before you know to ask them. Good luck.

Light schedule and nutes will force flowering. I veg on 8/16 and flower on 12/12 but I'm thinking about going to a different schedule.

damn good music goes well with the footage hahah

but yeah dude, you can grow in the ag.. but its not the best option. take this in to factor -
cheapest AG model? 50 bucks. how big of a reservoir for water? less than half a gallon.
a tub with lid from target/container store? - 10 bucks (tax incl) -- cfl light from anywhere to match AG's output? 10$ MAX
thats 20 bucks and you get a much bigger reservoir, the ability to position the cfl light anywhere, and your gonna have to buy an airstone/pump anyway if you get an aerogarden, since their internal one is not recommended.

honostly bro, do it yourself and youll be much happier. when i first started, i got the 50$ model and was soooo disappointed. i returned it and got a 5 gallon tub from the container store and put 2 plants in it. i STILL would recommend getting a bigger reservoir.. so what does that say about the AG res, ya know what im tryin to get at?

BUT if you HAVE to get it.. switch your babies into flowering early man.. keep your plants small because if there isnt enough room for roots.. it will not be a good experience.
