grokilla's "growing marijuana in a tree" experiment

My little GDP clone seems to be loving it up there. Even though I haven't "watered" her since I set this up on August 11th. In fact, I won't need to "water" ever. Sweet little system - I've pretty much been able to forget about it.

My next version will have a single "water tank" supporting multiple grow sites. This one is just a test.

I wish I'd gotten this up sooner in the summer though, the girl is flowering already.

you should do a grow op in a tree house... call it the the greenhouse treehouse.... utilize a reservoir to catch rainwater and irrigate that shit.... word up gorilla growing.. in a tree.. like a gorilla.. or a monkey of sorts.

lol...indeed, i'm sure all of that has been tried before...with some success too, but always lots of hard work. i have my fingers crossed that this system will finally crack-the-nut on the age-long quest for tree growing. not so much work but still be able to harvest decent-enough buds...

i have grown in a tree house. on a small platform. Two plants with time released food in compost in 2 gallon buckets. I got some crazy white and purple renee. Its a blue berry strain. i think i got a few ounces off both of them. It was good when i was 15.
It was in my back yard and every two days i had to water them. The water hose reached. I used spikes as steps.

i see you've always had the green talent then! you hit the nail on the head too. water is the secret - you never need to "water" this system. it manages water so precisely that very little of it goes a long ways; and the 2-AA battery operated system is really reliable. the camouflaged water-reservoir depicted can be emptied and filled from the ground. there is no real need to "visit" the plants - ever (at least that can be the hope). more to follow..

Next year right? I will have my system design posted here soon and you can compare and contrast. I know that tree growing is for a limited selection of growers only but we still need a good system to do it with!

The black thing in the photo is an insulated, camouflaged (although not well done), battery-operated gravity-drip water reservoir. It is designed to deliver just the right amount of water to my specially designed grow-pots (the brown thing in the photo also not well camouflaged). I can't reveal the secret as to why my grow-pots work on so little water just yet. But I will soon enough.

I plan to post all the pictures and even how to build the things soon enough. Like I said though, my system does work. But I do realize this system will not be suitable for a great many growers. But for a few of us, it should be a god-send!

My brave little GDP has been up in this tree alone and unafraid since August 11th. She is doing swell although it is unfortunate she didn't get a longer time to veg. She will be small but hopefully flower-ful too.

Pretty cool setup. I have not had to mess with this grow op at all. The reservoir should have enough water and water-soluble nutes to take us through harvest.

Nothing to do but wait!
